My husband and I are working on baby number two! We are really wanting for it to happen quicker than later. I know, you really can not control it, but does anyone have any suggestions or things that helped with conceiving quicker? This may just be a silly question but I thought I would throw it out there and see if anything has helped you all in the past. I have been on the pill for the last year but have been off of it for 2 months now. Thank you very much......

It really depends on age, how long you have tried etc. Our first took 2 weeks.. LOL Surprise. The second took a year of trying. My loving SIL said have sex every day! Thanks!

Seriously, I was pushing 39 so my doc put me on meds that made me ovulate. 1/10 chance of twins. However, I forgot to get perscription renewed due to crazy schedule and one morning I woke up sick. Peed on a stick and viola! I think we both were not thinking about it because we had other issues to deal with. You are young, dont stress! Woohoo, what an adventure you are on!

With both my kids, I used an online conception calendar. You put in your dates (as much as you know) and it tells you when your most fertile days are. I really loved the one I used, but I went back to find it a few months ago and it wasn't there anymore.
Also, don't try every day. Every other day during your most fertile days is better.
One lady I know says she always stands on her head afterward. I didn't go that far, but I would let gravity help by using a few pillows under my bum! It worked for me! My first was a first-try, and my second took 2 months.
Good luck!

I don't have a whole lot, but I have read in different sources that the most conceptions happen in the fall, so maybe it will happen soon on it's own if you don't stress. Stress is the main cause of infertility for both men and women.

I have no tricks but I certainly think my being on the pill prior was a help. I was on the pill for almost 15 years before I went off with my daughter, three mos later I was pregnant. With my son then I was back on for two years and went off and four mos later I was pregnant.
Try not to stress or worry, seems that is a downfall if trying too hard! CONGRATS and that is so extremely exciting!
I wish I was remarried, not so old and I would have another one in a heartbeat! Let us know when it works! :)

Ho exciting! The best advice I can give is try not to try TOO hard... it seemed like for us that just delayed it. I conceived my first very quickly and hoped it would happen that way again, but it took about 5 months the second time. I know that's not really a long time but it's hard when it's something you want so badly. Just try to relax and have fun with it, but still kind of keep track of when would be the best time to conceive (usually 2 weeks after the first day of your last period, I think, but it can vary from person to person). good luck with everything, and i hope it happens for you soon!

Learning Natural Family Planning (NFP) or Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is the best way to learn about your own body and your cycles. It helps you know when you are fertile so you have a better chance of conceiving. Plus it can help you avoid pregnancy, too! My husband and I have used NFP as our only form of family planning since we were married 12 years ago. We have conceived all of our children within a month or two of trying and have spaced our kids that way as well. Also, be aware that being on the pill can make it more difficult to figure out your fertile time since your cycles may not return to normal right away. You can google or look in the phone book for NFP instructors. Good luck!
