Would You "Wait and See" for 6 Months After Being Told You Had Hpv and Cin 2 - College Station,TX

I was TERRIFIED when my pap came back abnormal for the first time in 15 years of paps. Then I started talking to the women in my life and realized how incredibly common it was.
I was essentially in the exact same position you are in, abnormal pap, essentially the same biopsy results. My ob/gyn (whom I would and have trusted with my life and the lives to my two little girls) was not really concerned. He said we would look again at 6 months. If there was change we would do LEEP, if not, we would just keep watching. I did a follow up PAP at six months; no change. Follow up at the next six months was normal. Follow up the next six months was normal again. Now I am back up to yearly.
Once the virus is in your system it is there forever. No telling when or how I got it but it is there. When you do the research, yeah it can look pretty scary (#1 cause of cervical cancer); but there is no guarantee anything will ever come of it. As long as you and your doctor are aware and keep checking you should be fine.
Please talk to some people, I am sure you will be suprised to find how many women know exactly what you are talking about. At the end of the day if you still feel uncomfortable waiting that long, ask your doctor to check a t 3 months or seek a second opinion.

I've had the LEEP procedure done twice over the last decade. It's definitely quite unpleasant & I was knocked out both times.

Depending on whether your doctor wants to use a local or a general anesthesia probably makes a big difference. I do know they tend to shy away from anesthesia pretty much in any variety while you're pregnant.

It's my understanding from having gone through this more than once, that 6 months isn't going to make enough of a difference to make taking the chance while you're pregnant worth it.

If you're really uncomfortable though & don't fully trust your doctor's opinion then get a second one.

I had the same results like you and I wait the 6 months and in my next pap everything came up normal.....if you feel so worry get a second test talk to your doc about it just go out there and get a second opinion.

I'm sure others who have had this know what it is, but if you would tell us what cin 2 is (is there a beginning stage, such as cin 1) and hpv, I know it's a virus but more explanation would be helpful. I do not ever believe in the 'wait and see' situation anymore. I had uterine cancer last year and if I had 'waited and seen' I might not be alive to write this. In the meantime I will do my homework and look this up.

Don't ever be afraid to get a second opinion. Since you are asking, you obviously are not comfortable with "wait and see" so go get a second opinion!!

Second opinion. And if you worry like me, your doctor should just do it now and save you the stress. I do know once it "was normal" the next time, but then the next year I got it again so was it really normal? Doubt it.
