Daughter Won't Eat Breakfast Before School

Hello Ladies, The school year is beginning and I know that it benefits a child when they eat breakfast before going to school. My seven year old daughter is not a big breakfast eater and last year it was a battle to get her to eat before getting on the bus. I asked her if she would try drinking a shake every morning and she said that sounds yummy. Can anyone suggest a good tasting nutritious shake full of vitamins for her to try. I Keep Destroying My Pot Roasts!

Okay, this is strange -- but I fell in love with pot roast when I was pregnant with my son. But everytime I cook it in the crock pot, it turns out so dry! I season it, pop it in the crock pot with carrots, potatoes and mushrooms and onions, beef stock and french onion soup. Then I let it cook between 6-8 hours on low. It turns out dry and awful. What gives? Am I doing it wrong? I also can't figure out how to make gravy from the broth. Would LOVE any tips for a moist roast and good gravy. PS. The meat I purchased was about ...

Csa's and Local Farmer's Markets

Hello Ladies, My husband and I are big into gardening but this year we won't be able to have one. (We just moved into a new house with a lot of shade and brush that we plan on cleaning out in the fall.) Does anyone have any advice on good CSA's or good farmer's market around metro-Detroit? Meijer or Kroger

Has anyone compared prices at Meijer and Kroger? I can't tell which one has the lowest prices. It seems to me that maybe groceries are lower at Kroger while produce is lower at Meijer. There is no doubt that deli meats are lower at Meijer. I would rather shop at Kroger as it is less crowded and crazy, but not if I end up spending more. What have you all find to be best?

Diabetic Birthday Cake

Hi everyone. We are celebrating my oldest daughter's birthday this weekend with my husband's side of the family. My SIL was just diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, her partner probably would be diagnosed but doesn't believe in western medicine and my adult niece is a great candidate.
