We live in the country, we don't scoop...
If he poops in the yard, we scoop it up on a shovel and toss it in the woods...

Hmmm, I've never heard of a disposal system for dog waste. I might have to check that out.

Right now we have a small trash can that is kept outside. Every day my husband picks up after the dog and puts it in the little trash can. Once a week he changes the bag in that can and throws the full bag into our curbside trash can.

I don't feel bad about sending it to the dump; it's organic, breaks down fast, feeds decomposers and I don't feel like it really adds any volume to the landfill. Too bad I can't compost it for the garden :(

We haven't had a dog since we had our triplets. They're enough animals for us, lol! We had a small dog but we would buy a big box of cheap sandwich bags with zip close and we'd turn it inside out on our hand and pick up the poops, cover it and zip it closed. Then toss in the outside garbage bin. That's it.

Drives us nuts to this day when people walk their dogs and let them poop in our front yard and do not pick it up! So even with visiting poop with bigger dogs we do the same thing. In the heat of the summer you can always toss the zip inside a grocery bag and tie shut. Spray the bin for bugs and smell and wash out the bin once a month, tip over the dry.

I put it in the trash, which I hate to do. I am looking into the dog disposal system too, but I would not be able to use it in the colder months...

We (really "!", since I'm the O. that does the scoopin') really wanted to get this:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=...
because we try to be environmentally friendly, and this seemed more friendly than putting the poop in the trash.

However, we have heavy clay soil, and the Doggie Dooley is not recommended for clay soil. Plus, it can't be used when the ground is frozen.

So, we just bag it up & throw it in the trash.

We have a small trash can and every few days I go out to pick it up and then toss the full bag over the fence to the side of the house for trash day.

I wouldn't dream of picking up dog excrement-but I have heard of systems that are inground and break down the waste-safely-they may not, however, be able to be used during the cold, winter months.

I have environmentally friendly bio-degradable poop bags that I use to pick up the poo and then I just toss it in the woods behind our house.

I double bag it and put it in the trash. That's what our trash pick-up company says to do with it.

But I know O. guy with just O. little dog and he actually flushes the poop down the toilet. Personally, I wouldn't want to be carrying through the house like that to do that, but to each his/her own.

A septic system for doggie doo-doo disposal does sound like a good idea but you need the room, and it is work to set it up underground. I don't know people persoanlly who have that installed.

A disposal system or flushing it is the best way... but for the poop we pick up on a walk we put in the doggy bags and into the trash.
