I think it's like anything else where individual results will vary but wanted to let you know my sister used two supplies of Latisse and didn't really see any results.
Hello wonderful moms! Has anyone tried Latisse? I only know one person who has used it. She had great results, but her eyelashes were pretty long to begin with. From what I understand, it costs about $70 for a one month supply of the eye drops. I would like to try it out, but I would like to see if any moms can share their experience with me. A few questions:
1. Have you had the LASIK procedure done or did you already have dry eyes before trying Latisse?
2. Did you use it while you were pregnant?
3. Did your lower lashes grow longer too?
Thanks for any advice you can share!!!

I work in the pharmaceutical industry, so I'm going to provide some information on the product from what the FDA has approved vs. personal experience.
Here's the product's website where you can find all this information:
http://latisse.com/
It's really important to know the safety information about the product (includes commonly reported side effects from clinical trials and now that it's on the market)
http://www.latisse.com/AboutSafety.aspx?state=20
The product is FDA Pregnancy Category C which means it really hasn't been studied in humans and really should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks.
The instructions say only to use it on the upper lashes. So, it doesn't appear there is much information about use on lower lashes.
It does not appear that there's much information, either, about use with patients who've undergone LASIK, so that would be a good question to ask your optometrist/ophthalmologist.
You can not use Latisse while pregnant. This is what my doctor told me. I have dry eyes but use the Restasis drop and was advised that I should be ok to use and if not to discontinue use if the dryness continues. I have a consultation in a few weeks. My mom used Latisse and got awesome results...Full and long eye lashes. She was losing hers. At age 60 her eyes look great. It is about $200 for a six month supply. And yes your bottom lashes also grow longer. You apply it to the top of your eyelash line upper lashes before bed and the solution will penetrate down to your lower lashes.
Personally, I would get lash extensions rather than risk my vision.
I wait at least a year or two when some new treatment comes out to see if any side effects show up that weren't showing up in other tests. As far as I am concerned let the fools who grab the new treatments be the guine pigs. I also don't use anything that has a side effects list longer than my grocery list.
I use the Loreal lash booster. You put it on at night and i have seen a difference in a few weeks. Its about $14 or so and you can get it anywhere. I would try that first. Go to their website if you want more info about it. I dont believe it has all those odd side effects.
How about accepting your beauty as is?
If your are not naturally 'equipped' with those eye lashes than there is no need to be there. BTW I do not have them either and I have eye brows that are all over the place.
I am sorry, do not want to be harsh, but it is ridiculous what comes on the market these days.
I bet there are plenty of side effects that are just not studied on yet or just simply ignored and you will harm you body with any chemical you put in or on your body, face, eyes....
I hoep you find another solution to make yourself look better than choosing this product.
However this is just my personal opinion and I have never tried it nor do I know someone that did.
My sister had extremely thin/very sparse eyelashes and she had always dealt with with loads of mascara. It always looked clumpy and uneven because of her lack of lashes. I hadn't seen her for 4 months or so and when I saw her it was shockingly dramatic. In a good way don't get me wrong. I asked her what's different about her and she batted her lashes at me and it hit me! We had seen advertisements for Latisse over the Summer and she was all over it. She is a faithful user and I'm telling you it worked wonders for her. Now her makeup application is much smoother and uses less product. Not at all like before. Good luck! HTH
p.s. She had Lasik before the Latisse and it works on lower lashes too.
Hi Lucy,
The product seems to work from the photos on their website but the TV ad says that it may cause C. in eye color or blindness. Personally I wouldn't risk either for longer lashes. I have awful vision now and I wouldn't want to give any more of it up for anything....

i have two friends who have tried it and had great results! super long lashes very quickly. if you put it on your bottoms they will also grow longer. they also said that if you let it drip onto the skin around your eye you may notice hair there too! (yikes) I have been debating buying it. Neither of these girls were pregnant or had lasik though.
wait have you heard the side effects? safe while pregnant? I would be seriously concerned about that after hearing all the side effects. You know you can buy individual eyelashes and glue them on. they work great and they are SAFE
I had Lasik 10 yrs ago or so. I still love it every day. It should have nothing to do with yor eyelashes at all. I doubt anyone would do it while you are pregnant. I would guess along with other parts of you your eyes may swell, which would scew the information they need to do Lasik. Be sure to go to a reputatble doctor not some place that has a coupon in the Sunday paper. You get one chance at this.
