Hi A.,
You putting all the toxic, harmfull stuff on your eyelids - no wonder you don't get any results.
Try some from the healthfood store without formaldehyde.
And that goes for any other personal care products.

Yes ladies, I feel if i admit it I am half way to the cure!!!! To this day I don't know how I have avoided eye injury from particles in the air as my lashes or the lack there of would never protect my eyes. My hubs and son are of course full on thick fringed upper and lower lashes, if they weren't so darn cute I would hate them. So the question is mascara. I have tried a lot. Dior show, Maybelleen great lash, Stilletto and tons others. What works for you? I've even done the false lashes but who the heck can keep up with that? If you are naturally thick lashed I envy you but if you other lashless moms have the miracle mascara would you mind sharing the secret? Thanks
Ladies thank you for your suggestions. I'm not doing Latisse because yes it works but the second you stop using it your eyes lashes go back to their original stubbiness. But I will try some of the mascaras the L'oreal one sounds promising. I had used that new one that formed"tubes" around your lashes and when you wash off they supposedly glide off. The "tubes" glided right into my eyes and on one particular emotional day they ran down my tear stained face and looked like spider legs stuck to my cheeks, not a good look. Thanks for all the advice. Have a great summer

You must have some form of lashes to be able to put mascara on.
My lashes are super short and super curly. So it seems like I have no lashes at all. Mascara only helps me look like a raccoon. I'm always scratching at my eyes.
I just gave up on the lashes and have instead decided to just be natural. I do use some shea butter on the lashes and that helps make them less dry and irritating. I am really learning to appreciate the authentic me and that's just fine.
I know this didn't really answer the mascara question but I figured this couldn't hurt.
Encouragement from your lashless freak mamapedia sister/friend, K..
I don't know about a mascara, but I have used Castor Oil on my lashes to thicken them and it works. Before you go to bed, take a Q-tip and put a little castor oil on it. Close your eye and rub a little on your lashes. It'll be a bit heavy feeling, but it works.
Have you ever tried Latisse? It really works well! It makes your lashes really grow. You can get it from a dermatologist - or any spa that does Botox should have it. It's a little expensive but sometimes they go on sale (promotions, ie. buy 1, get 1 free) from the manufacturer - I actually think there's a promotion going on now. You can also put it on your eyebrows to get fuller eyebrows. It's a clear liquid that you put on once a day (at night) the same way you would put on mascara.
Use the white base mascara to lengthen, and then use Covergirl LashBlast Mascara in the "very black" shade. The purple one is the best! I am a lash fanatic, and the first time I used this, I was sold!!!! I've tried every cheap and very expensive kind there is, and cheap wins!
I have thin, short, lighter-colored (even though I have very dark hair and eyebrows!) and sparse eyelashes myself. My husband also has very thick, long lashes, and I am very happy that all four of my daughters have his lashes as well...
I will admit that I hardly ever wear make-up of any kind, but whenever I wear mascara, I usually pair it with eyeliner right on my lash-line. Mascara on its own doesn't usually do as much as I would like. My favorite (right now) is Lash-Blast Volume from Cover Girl.
BTW: I seem to get stuff in my eyes frequently, as well as my eyes are VERY sensitive to the sun (don't know if that is because of the lack of eyelashes or what)
Anna,
I'm not sure, but with your reference to "the cure" are you indicating that you're going through cancer treatment? I finished my chemo in February, and although my lashes were the last hairs to fall out, by the end of chemo I had about three of them left. I waited about a month for the chemo drug to leave my system, and I started using an OTC product I found on the Vermont Country Store website. It's called Rapidlash, and it's significantly cheaper than Latisse. I felt like it made my lashes come back really quickly, and they seemed thicker and longer than before. I also experienced no side effects, which is why I was nervous about asking for a prescription for Latisse. I probably should've tested it on one eye to see if it was the product that was doing the trick, or whether my lashes were growing that fast on their own. but I was SO anxious to get my lashes back, I didn't want to do that experiment. Anyway, they are back, but still blonde and invisible! My mascara of choice is Cover Girl's Lash Blast. It also comes in brown, which is getting hard to find; most drugstores only carry black or black-brown. Black mascara is way too dark for me! I also splurged recently on a Chanel mascara that I love -- one coat makes my lashes very long and dense. Plus it isn't all crumbly like Lancome mascaras. Hope this helps.
Have you tried... I think it's called Latise. The prescription lash thickener? I feel your pain... I had a temporary lash situation that made me end up removing/cutting my lashes until I basically had no lashes and man... you don't realize how much you need them until they are gone! There is also a non-prescription eye lash treatment, but I can't think of who makes it, that claims to help you grow thicker lashes.
Good luck!
