As I Get Older...

You have described me! I have started wearing demi bras (wireless). I have a few from Aerie and one from Betsy Johnson.

In the summer, I live in my sports bras and tank tops. Throw on a frilly skirt and some pearls and I'm good to go.

Huh??! The older I get, the more I need my bra to be bionic.

Totally with you. I was so sick of my uncomfortable bras that I set up an appt. in the Nordstrom lingerie dept for a new measurement. I told her I wanted LIGHTLY padded, no underwire, comfortable, everyday bras.

She measured me (found out I was buying the wrong size bras for years, my goodness), went out onto the floor and came back w/ a Calvin Klein Perfectly Fit Wireless bra and another made by Donna Karan. I bought both. VERY comfortable.

Ha! You made me laugh! I'm 41, and feel the same way. As soon as I get home each day, I take a bath and put on pjs. Last week I decided my poor kids (boys, ages 8 and 14) were probably sick of seeing my sad boobs flopping around under my pjs each evening, so I bought a couple of soft sports-type bras without underwires. I have no idea what they're actually called, but they're fairly comfortable. I wear the camis that have built in bras in the summer sometimes, but my boobs are bigger (34D), so I still have to wear a regular bra with them, too. It kind of defeats the purpose.

ETA: I do recommend Nordstrom for measuring. That's where I go for my everyday bras. They do a great job of measuring an helping to find what you need. I just don't want to pay their prices for a comfy, under pjs bra.

I don't like built in camis.

Then if you go without a bra, you have to decide if it bothers you if/when the nipples show through.
I mean, even my 9 year old daughter will say ewww... if there is a woman without a bra and her nipples are showing through or popping up through her snug t-shirt.

Aw thanks for the laugh! I noticed as I get older the higher I like the waist on my pants. So sad but anyway I digress I like my victoria secret no underwire bras because I feel sexy in them, they last a long time, barley notice I have one on and they make my boobs look great!

You are not the only one. I like to be comfortable too.

I used to go braless and got away with it because I'm small. But even small-breasted women get saggy and I decided to wear a bra to keep everything in place for as long as possible.

It may be time for you to go bra shopping. I did and found a playtex bra that I love. It's plain, simple, boring and so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing it. Perhaps a professional fitting would be worthwhile. Since it's something you'd be wearing every day, it's worth it to find just the right bra with the right fit. Good luck!

I have seen the "Barely There" bras- by playtex (I think). They look super comfortable! Unfortunately, as with most comfortable looking bras, they don't make them past a C cup (DDD here). :(

how about the Genie Bra? They advertise it on tv a lot. Kind of like a sports bra. I know how you feel. Some days I throw on a sweatshirt because I don't want to put a bra on!

There are tons of different styles of tanks that have built in bra's. You'll need to look for quality though. Make sure the elastic under the bust-line is not super soft and stretchy, you want it to hold it's shape against your body.

I have some that are fully lined on the front part on clearance and had a of the short sports bras that are good too, you can wear them under a top or tank and it just looks layered.

I think if you look around at sporting goods places you should be able to find so good alternatives. You want them to be lined with good material, not flimsy so that you jiggle when you walk.

at home I'll wear sport bra or a tighter fit but comfortable tee shirt to "hold" them into place then I will throw on a loose fitting sweat shirt to hide I don't have a bra when Im around the kids.

Out of the house its always a regular bra or sport bra... can't go with out there!

I am with you. I wish I did't have to wear them and at home sometimes I dont but I am nto that small so I have to wear them anytime I go out of the house. I have needed new ones cause I have had a few that I have had for years but they are stretched out and starting to wear out. So a few weeks ago I went to try to find some new ones. Well I tired on the size I have ben wearing, well I thought I was never going to get out of it. Too small so I tired on one one size bigger fit better around but flet like they where at my throat. So frustreated I took it off and got dressed. Then later called my mom and told her I really need her to go bra shopping. I hate doing it on my own. Yes I am a grown woman but sometimes I still need her suport. I have a hard time since when I was younger I was skinny I didn't have issues finding stuff that fit. Two kids and a husband later I am not small any more.

lol! I just turned 45 and am braless when I'm home, which is most of the time. I have a hard to fit bra size: 42B. And they are not firm and perky like they used to be! I found some extreme padded bras and I at first loved them, bought about 8 of them. Now I HATE them! I did end up finding a couple pull on sports bras thinking they would be more comfortable and they are. But they also make my already tiny boobs flatten out even smaller! I have seen the ads for the Genie bras and the Ah bras but since my cup size is so small, I don't think they would work for me but haven't tried them. So I guess I don't really have any advice but wanted to say that *I understand!*. Hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!

Don't wear an underwire, there has been research it is linked to tumors and cancers in the breast anyways. There are plenty of comfortable bra options out there! I love my Body by Victoria ones. At home, I go braless or wear like a cami with built in support, which is an option for smaller breasted women.

I like the aaahhhh bra. Found at Walmart Freddie's, etc. only cost $20 or so.

I'm still on the search for a comfortable bra, too. I go without a lot. I am a 36 almost B, so it's not too inappropriate for me to go without, depending on the top I'm wearing. Now my daughter (10!) is already showing through her shirts and wearing camisole bras, and noticing what I'm (not) wearing...

My favorite brand is Wacoal for bras for work. I have a camisole from them that I like, also, but that one isn't available anymore :-(

I'm about to order a couple of bras from Title 9. They have many styles, sports and everyday bras, and a rating system for level of support needed.
