If it's just a bikini wax, it won't be a big deal. (You've been through child birth already - bikini wax doesn't hurt nearly as much, and it's over a lot faster! LOL). Go to a salon that uses a high quality wax. Good wax doesn't stick to your skin quite as much, so it doesn't hurt as badly.

If you're getting a brazilian... then take a handful of anti-inflammatories and drink a cocktail first, because WOW that does hurt.

In either case, it's worse the first time. I'd start with just the bikini wax and then maybe go a little further the next time if you are so inclined. Good luck. =)

My first time was very painful, but it will get less painful as time goes on. I recommend staying on top of it, if you don't continue waxing over a period of time, I find it hurts the next time I wax. I've been getting my bikini waxed for about 15 years because I tend to get a lot of irritation when I shave. I am truly glad I began waxing although it takes some getting used to. You could try some calming oils afterwards to help with any irritation you may get when you first start waxing. Definately have it done professionally, it is a lot easier and faster. Good Luck.

Do not go during your menstrual cycle or right before it or it can be very painful. Otherwise, it is like having a bandaid ripped off sensitive skin.

If you've never waxed before, it'll definitely hurt, but as you do it more and more, the hair won't ever really be in that strong and it will hurt less. My advice is to take a couple of motrin like an hour or so before hand.

A product like "bikini zone" or even an over the counter burn ointment (something with a little numbing agent in it) will help with irritation in the day or two after.

Waxing is WAY less trouble than shaving. I do my wax myself these days and it's super easy (but I'd definitely have it done professionally until you're used to it). You may get little ingrowns, but way fewer than shaving so that's not really a waxing concern.

I couldn't tell you about a professional one. I did one by myself at home, and I bruised some but it was well worth it. I would definitely suggest buying some dermaplast, the one with the red cap. It has lidocaine in it and makes a huge difference.

Don't like the pain but it is worth it. Find a gal who does a great job and stick with her. I have been loyal and faithful to the one for 6 years now.... You feel cleaner and less worries!!
