You can do something you don't have to keep warm - like muffins or soemthing like banana bread. Would be much easier to transport!
We are going to a new church and tomorrow is their monthly breakfast for the men and women's groups. Do you have a recipe I can take that isn't too complicated and tastes good? Of course I want to make a good impression with my cooking skills, but as you all know, I'm not a good cook. lol I do have a crockpot so maybe a recipe in there will stay hot/warm? Thanks!!!

I always make hasbrown casserole for church breakfast potlucks. SO easy, quick, and it's always asked for!
1 bag of frozen hashbrowns (whatever kind you want)
1 can of cream of ___ soup (I normally use potato)
1 contain or sour cream
1 small onion diced finely
4 cups cheddar cheese.
Mix the potatoes, soup, sour cream, onion, and half of the cheese together. Put it all in a 9x13 baking dish, top with the rest of the cheese, and bake for 45 minutes or so. It's SO yummy, and like I said, everone asks for it. I even make it with dinner sometimes :).
Mom2KCK has it perfectly. Hashbrown casserole is PERFECT. It makes a 9X13 pan, so a bunch. It's creamy and yummy and so easy monkeys could make it. It literally takes 5 minutes to put together.
For my family of pickies I omit the onion, add onion powder and add an 8 oz. package of julienned ham pieces (you can find them near the lunch meat at your grocery.
It's quick to put together and can cook while you are getting ready for church.
This is my fav and a big hit (I've been asked to bring it on multiple occassions).
Breakfast Burritos:
First fry up hash browns (bagged, loose, thawed)
You can also, fry up onions, peppers or leave them out, up to you and how much time you have.
I buy a tube of breakfast sausage and fry that up.
Next I scramble eggs, a dozen or less.
Throw all fried up yummy goodness into a crockpot and mix.
I bring flour shells, salsa, cheese, sour cream. It's easier than it sounds.
I like ketchup on mine, my daughter like pancake syrup.
Another favorite is French Toast Bake:
(Excuse the recipe, I'm not very technical or exact)
In greased/sprayed 9X13 pan:
Place broken up bread (I've used regualar white bread, cinnamon raisen, french bread)
cover with eggs mixed with milk (half and half is really good), 2 T sugar, tsp vanilla, tsp cinnamon - 8-10 eggs.
I've also chuncked up cream cheese and added it to the bread.
cover with foil, refridgerate overnight. Bake in am 40 mins.
sometimes showing off you cook skills isnt important.....sometime bringing the simplest is the best....bagels and cream cheese, muffins(homemade) and flavored butter, or just a bowl of yogurt and granola!!!
Make Paula Deen's Bread Pudding-they will be eternally grateful!

This is a good one and you can add a small can of green chilies:

It's good hot or room temp, but your church probably has a kitchen.
Google "Creme brûlée French toast"
FABULOUS, make ahead & bake in the morning. Soooooo yummy!
Baked French Toast! This is my favorite....to bring to a breakfast/brunch. You make it the night before and bake in the AM. Delicious!!!!

Mom2KCK has an easy excellent recipe. I would mix cooked ham or bacon in with it, but that makes it more complicted.
When I need something new I go to all recipes.com.
Here is a list of their breakfast cassaroles: http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Breakfast-and-Brunch/Breakf...
Good luck to you and yours.
I am at work so no access to my recipes but I can say there are so many recipes with eggs and meat that I would google one and go for it. The nice thing about egg based is they are moist so they heat well without drying out.
Like I could see eggs mixed with some rotel, cumin, salt and pepper, scrambled with browned chorizo added in, perhaps topped with shredded cheese cause cheese makes everything better. :)
This is my favorite make ahead french toast recipe. We make it the night before and bake it in the morning. Its goof-proof and delicious. I found it on the Kraft Foods recipe site and I have modified it to use frozen berries (strawberry/ raspberry mix works perfectly) instead of the original recipe's cranberries.
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
4 eggs
2-1/2 cups milk
1 loaf (24 inches) French bread, ends trimmed, cut into 18 slices
2 cups fresh or thawed frozen berries, divided
1 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
2 Tbsp. sugar
make it
BEAT cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add milk, beating until well blended.
ARRANGE bread in greased 13x9-inch baking dish; sprinkle with 1 cup of the berries. Pour cream cheese mixture over berries. Let stand 15 minutes (or overnight).
BAKE 40 to 45 minutes at 350' or until golden brown. Meanwhile, bring syrup just to boil in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add remaining 1 cup berries and 2 Tbsp. sugar. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly. Cut casserole into 9 pieces. Serve topped with the berry sauce.
Something a bit more simple and light which I normally take is a bowl of mixed fruit. It is very well liked as the bowl comes home empty. Fresh strawberries, blue berries, green grapes, and watermellon. I stay away from the berries as they get mushy.
