Clearwater, Florida - Seeing Winter?

Has anyone seen Winter (the dolphin from Dolphin Tale) in Clearwater, Florica?

We are in the middle of planning our winter trip and Tampa is going to be a one night stop for us...but I'm thinking since Clearwater is right there too, it would be fun to go visit the aquarium where Winter is. It doesn't look too expensive and it would be an incredible experience for the kids (10, 8, and 6) - at least in my mind.

Has anyone been and is it worth it?

What can I do next?

Yes, it is absolutely worth it! There is more to see than just Winter too. You can ride either a boat or a trolley over to The Dolphin Tale exhibit.

My sister, bil, and nephew just went last month. They enjoyed it. I know my daughter would because she was completely facinated with Winter after we watched the movie.

We saw her before the movie came out and that was such a nice visit. We went again after the movie and I was so sad for those animals.

They are a rescue for injured animals and it was so sad that the animals were hiding from the crowds of people and the guy talking over the loud speakers. It is small and crowded inside and also hot in the summer months. It has been over a year since my last visit there so maybe it's not so bad now.

I am all for donating money to help them but the place became a circus and that is no way for the animals to heal.

A friend gave us free tickets and our family of 4 went. We stayed less then an hour. I guess we expected more. It was also a cold "Florida" day. We live here. We never saw the movie. They have a gift shop and then you walk around. The mold/water bothered my allergies. It was fun to see Winter but again this wasn't a trip we will do again. Maybe you will have a better experience. We didn't stay to watch the shows so maybe that will be worth it.
