Sent my dad on a deep water fishing charter. He was thrilled. Hubs is easier to please, he has a thing for goofy hawaiian shirts, the more outlandish the better.

What is the best thing you've ever done for Father's Day?
I would like to do something really special for my husband this year. He's an amazing dad and in six years, I don't think I've ever planned out a REALLY special Father's Day (beyond gifts and cards).
Any ideas?

We always let my husband pick the day. Sometimes it's a family thing sometimes he goes golfing.
We've done everything from helicopter rides, to a day of pampering (breakfast in bed, sitting around watching movies or reading and we brought him things), to a day of fishing either with our son in a boat at a local lake or off shore with a guide.
I always give my husband a handprint project from our son as a gift he can actually open.
My husband has been talking about wanting a new grill since ours quit on us last summer. I have been looking at grills at Lowe's and my father in law is willing to pick one up for me. The only thing is that he knows what money goes where so I am making crafts and selling them online to help get the money without him knowing. He sees me doing and shipping crafts to friends all the time so he will not suspect anything.
We always plan a fun activity. We hike an amazing trail. Or we go canoeing. Or a camping trip. We try to go somewhere we have never been before. We also give cards and a small gift...often things the kids made. What does your husband love to do?
I would just ask him. I would suggest a special meal or favorite food-related treat during the day and romance after your little trio goes to bed.
While we think Mother's Day and Father's day is a "Hallmark" Holiday - we don't "celebrate" it.
What have we done on Father's Day? A baseball game - between his favorite team and our local team.
Why not ask him what he would like or what would make him feel really special and cherished?
We don't celebrate other than go to dinner.
What does he like to do?
