I assume you meant September? So a test will show positive if you do it now. Go ahead and take one.
So my period usually is the week of the 12th. Then my daughter gets her the following then my best friend gets hers the following week. So for the month of October both my daughter and I got ours on the 10th. She has just gotten hers and I have not gotten mine. My boyfriend and I do not use protection because he had a vasectomy. I noticed the other day my breasts were tender to the touch and I have been urinating a lot more the past few days. He says there is a chance of me being pregnant and hopes that I am. I am more of the "I am not" kinda person. I do not want to get excited. So how long should I wait till I take a test? He thinks we should wait until the end of the month.
Also I never got my period regularly as a child or even as an adult. I had the shot for about a year and it has taken a year for me to become regular. I have been off of the shot for more then a year. Last winter I was late but the test was negative. I am afraid that it will happen again. Also when I think about taking a test I get cramps all of a sudden like I am going to get my period. Am I psyching myself out?
Can I get pregnant with my boyfriend having a vasectomy? Has anyone had this happen?
Thanks
He says he did not go back to the doctor to be tested. Sorry my last period was August 10, 2011..LOL I am laughing at some of the responses because I think they are funny and I do need to smile today. We were not together when he had it done otherwise I would have made him go back...I dis get my period a month and a half later...
I know for a fact he had it done. It has been about 3 years since he has had it done.
Well I took a test and it was negative but I still haven't had my period...
So I did ot do the test last night because I had cramps so I am just not even sure. I am going to go at the end of the weekend and get a test if I do not have my period by then.

Just take the test.
And tell your dopey boyfriend to go back to his doc and get tested so that you don't have to worry about this. Why would he not follow up? Is it that hard to jerk off into a cup? Not to be crude but I think that it's pretty ignorant of him!
I know of four pregnancies that happened because the man never went back to be tested.
I hope you do the pregnancy test and let us know! My husband just had a vasectomy and we're DEFINITELY doing the follow-up test in November. It makes me nervous to hear of all the surprise pregnancies here...
Anything is possible in regard to the vasectomy. Rare pregnancies have been reported certainly. Depends on what exactly was done and how to your guy. He seems awful convinced you can be pregant. Why?? Are you sure he really had the procedure?!
Sounds like you use the rhythm method and not actual charting of your cycles. So I'm guessing you don't really know when you ovulate. Just a guess each month? In that case, wait until your expected menstruation date. If AF doesn't arrive, confirm with a test.
I beieive after the vasectomy the man is supposed to go back and have his "stuff" tested to make sure the vasectomy was successful. Some men skip this step. Did he?
it can always happen because nothing is 100% but its a VERY small chance, personally id just wait and if you dont start just make an appointment with your obgyn to get checked out to make sure everything is ok
You can but it is extremely unlikely. I would wait a week and see if your period shows up. If not, then test.
Was he tested after his surgery to make sure he was "fixed?" If so, then you're likely not pregnant. If he wasn't tested, then I suppose there is a possibility. But doctors don't usually screw up easy things like vasectomies so I would doubt it.
And why not just take a test and end the worrying? That's what I would do.
It is possible, but it is not probable for you to get pregnant.
You can take the test roughly the first day after your missed period.
Just take it and either way you will feel better knowing than not knowing.
Real rocket scientist that boyfriend of yours!! No wonder he said there is a chance of you being pregnant. If you already know you are pregnant a month later there you go. Is there any way you can bring the brilliant man to the urologist to be checked??
What happened? Did you take a test? Did you get your period? Hope everything's okay.
Heard of several instances of vasectomy failing. Not the norm, for sure, but definitely not out of the question. You are definitely late, so I wouldn't hesitate to take a test. It would at least confirm or put to rest your thoughts of pregnancy. Most of these tests are so sensitive these days, they can tell the first day after a missed period, and some even earlier. I got cramps for weeks after I knew I was pregnant. I think its because of the embryo implanting and the uterus adjusting to a pregnancy or something. Go buy a test this afternoon and let us know what you find out!! Sounds like neither of you would be disappointed if it were positive! Good luck!
I would go get a test, my husband Vasectomy took almost a full eyar to get the all clear...and it can grow back.....when did he has this done? Are you sure he had the V done? Let us know! :-)
