Hi Moms! Is it just me, or is anyone else out there tired of being bombarded with information about the PERFECT lives of celebrity moms?! Every time I turn around we get to hear about how perfect life and motherhood is for women like Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Garner (just to name a few). YUCK! It's like the entertainment industry and every parenting organization feels they must report on celebrity moms. Celebritries now days behave as if they discovered having children, and that they "invented the wheel" on parenting! You know...I feel like telling them, "I'm glad being a mother is so perfect for you, but just keep it to yourself!" ARGH!!!! LOL! I know that celebrities have the money to hire chefs and nannies, but many of the celebrity moms now days claim they take care of their children the majority of the time themselves and use babysitters rarely. Hmmm, must be nice to be Super Woman! Does anyone else feel the same way, or am I just sour grapes? Thanks for your reply!
Hi Moms! I enjoyed reading your replies! I agree with all of you that celebrity moms have the money to make things easier on themselves. I just want some of you to know that I really don't spend all of my time researching how celebrity mom's live...it's just things I hear about or read in passing (and I don't buy gossip papers). It's just tidbits I may see on webpages, on tv shows, or in magazines at doctor's offices every so often. I'm not looking for this information. LOL! :-) Most of these celebrity mom's indicate they are the ones raising their children and not Nannies, so that's probably why it urks me more because they act as if everything is "perfect". Ugh! I sure like to hear from the few and far inbetween down-to-earth celebrities who are willing to share the good with the bad so us normal people know it's not just us. (I know this is what this website is for, but hopefully you know what I mean). God Bless Us All! Thanks Moms! It was great hearing from all of you who replied!

I totally agree!! They think it is so perfect because most of them aren't actually raising there children on there own or with their significant other. They have hired help!! Yes it would be closer to perfect for me if everytime my little one cried there was a Nanny to the resuce, but then would I really be a MOM?

Nope you're definitely not the only Mama that this bothers!
The way I see it, a lot of them aren't truly experiencing Parenthood if they're hiring out a lot of normal parenting duties.
I can't judge any one of them personally, though, as I don't know how things work in their individual households. However, it IS completely annoying how Hollywood People are treating babies like a fashion accessory lately!!! That makes me ill!!
That's my two-cents' worth! :-)

Celebrities are paid huge sums of money to appear as if they have perfect lives. The more perfect their lives appear, the less likely they'll be on the front page of every magazine or the top story on E!. Remember what happened to Brittney when she drove her SUV with her baby on her lap? She was crucified. I'm not defending or vilifying her, just saying that they have to appear perfect or they'd be hounded even more than normal.
I don't envy any of them, in fact think how terrible it would be to not be able to take your kid to the park without a million cameras on you. I imagine that some wouldn't mind telling it like it really is, but they have managers telling them to keep their mouths shut - they have a public image to protect! The whole thing is so fabricated, and I feel for those kids who will never know how to live a normal life!
And yet, celeb reality shows are huge ratings hits, we eat up E! news and Entertainment tonight, and like K. G. said, you can always find a stack of gossip rags in every doctor's office. So as long as we keep buying it, the celeb's will keep dishing it!

How many of those CELEBRITY moms do you think are actually taking care of their own kids? My life would be perfect too if I could get up in the morning whenever I wanted, had someone to cook meals for me and my kids and then someone else to watch them while I workout for two hours with my personal trainer! Come to think of it, my life is pretty perfect just the way it is! Tired of it isn't necessarily the word for it, I just don't have the opportunity to listen to it. Usually it's Barney in the car and by the time I do get to sit down for some TV, it's well past Entertainment Tonight! Don't let it discourage you.

TOO FUNNY! I was just thinking about the same thing today! What bugs me is how they lose there "baby weight" instantly, because they have nannies to watch the babies while they conveniently work out with a personal trainer! And those magazine photos...they must use a lot of airbrushing to hide the dark circles under their eyes from lack-of-sleep! Or wait, the nanny is there too in the middle of the night! Oh, I got a mean streak - now you got me going too, heehee!

Don't spend one more second thinking of it. Those twits are hamming it up for the press. Children are like accessories to them. Most likely the kids know the nanny better than anyone else. It's a tread like all things in Hollywood.

YES!!! But with that much help, anyone could make their lives look perfect. Hollywood has not figured out the perfect marriage yet, as we all know, which makes me feel better when I'm reading about them in the checkout aisle :-)

I think it is their agents working on pumping them up for good public relations. I avoid reading or watching anything that spouts this tripe. Try to go to the library and get some good reading and be selective what you watch on TV or listen to. Your church will surely have some recommended media materials to uplift your spirit. Do not believe these fairy tales. They are not worth your time and attention--especially if they make you feel inadequate or envious.

Celebrety Moms? Don't get me started! They only think they are perfect b/c they have all of that money. I'm not a perfect mom but, with me living in a trailor and making only 7.50/hr, I think I do pretty darn good. My husband and I don't do what our parents did to us and we give everything that our parents never gave us. We always put our child first and we go without and sacrifice. We may not have much money, but what we do give makes our child more rich than any celebrity child in the world.

Of course motherhood is easy for celebrity moms. They can afford to pay someone else to take care of their children, and then be around them when it is convienent and they are on their best behavior. I enjoyed your email though!

I don't really pay attention to celebrity moms at all, but in reading the responses I'm realizing that there are a lot of bitter reactions to celebrity mothers. I think we all need to take a second and know that no matter how much money one has, or even if the mothers have nannies, it doesn't change the fact that we love our children and do the best that we can for them, no matter what. I've never felt that any celebrity mother is acting superior to any other mother, the only time I saw that is when I read these responses. We need to support each other as women, isn't that what this mamasource is all about? Women celebrities need support too, and it is disappointing to read such bitterness toward other women.

I'm a little tired of it, too. We'd all have "perfect" lives if we had the money they did! Of course, they also have cameras in their faces all day and reporters and I'm sure they have to say something. I'm just glad that at the end of the day, I don't have to answer to the world the way these women do.

These celebrities have enough money to pay for help raising their child........they probably pay for Prozac too!! I think anyone with the focus needed to be a celebrity are probably too much in the clouds to notice the fopas of parenthood anyway. There is something to be said about getting down in the trenches of parenting.......you learn to appreciate peace time.

I'm not sure that it is all their faults that they are "in your face" all the time. I would imagine that those mothers would enjoy being less in the public eye, too. I don't seem to notice the perfect celebrity moms; maybe you are just into magazines, shows, etc. that focus on these topics. Try finding some other interests if it bothers you so much. And realize that those mothers, despite what you may see in publications, have down days too! Just an opinion : )
