If you did, it wouldn't stay off. 1-3lbs a week is fantastic! Eat well, SLEEP, drink plenty of water and exercise and the weight will come off, I promise!
Sounds like you are doing well, keep it up!
Ok, this may sound stupid, but I'm needing to lose around 5lbs between now and Monday. I've been doing WW and it's worked great, but I seem to just be losing between 1-3lbs per week and I'd like to give it a little kick. Does anyone know of a way to kind of kick the weightloss in the pants?
TIA

Cutting off a limb... no seriously there is no way. You could do a "cleanse", but mostly what you will be using is water.
I would strongly suggest you keep on doing what you doing, going on a crash diet for a weekend could be more counterproductive than helpful!!!
Often you will gain everything back (and then some) and you might not be able to keep up the nice steady weight loss you have accomplished now.
Good luck.
You're not going to lose any real weight in a weekend. You could do a cleanse but that would only really affect your bowels and it's nothing permanent. If you have been losing on weight watchers as you have, then you're doing great!
If you want to kick up your weight loss a little bit consider cutting out all sugar and caffeine from your diet even though WW allows for some. Also consider eating more lean protein like fish and chicken (equivalent to pregancy levels). Also never eat a carb without a protein - it will help to balance your blood sugar. Limit your carbs to low glycemic veggies - ie: green leafies, broccoli, green beans, cucumbers, green onions, mushrooms etc. Avoid high sugar ones like peas, carrots, corn, onions etc.
When I want a kick start, here's what I might eat for a 3 or 4 days along with 8-10 glasses of water per day
bfast - 1/2 small grapefruit with splenda, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, low carb-low fat protein drink (max 70 cals 3 g carbs 1 g fat 12g protein).
10 am snack - protein drink (70 cal 3 g carb 1 g fat)
lunch - BIG salad - 8 ounces by weight of salad veggies- romaine, fresh tomato, cucumbers, mushrooms, etc. along with 1 oz of hard cheese, 3 oz of chicken and a protein drink I make homemade dressing with flaxseed oil and lemon juice
2 pm snack - protein drink
dinner - 4 oz lean meat, 4 oz cooked veggies or 8 oz raw, small carb (might be 1/2 low carb tortilla, 1/4 cup black beans, 1 slice of low carb bread)
buy a girdle? Or those slim spanx. This will smooth out the trouble spots if you have a special night out planned. Also the right fitting clothes can take inches off your body and make you look slimmer.
Amputation. Arm, part of a leg maybe.
(Sorry, had to.)
1-3 lbs per week is healthy and normal. Anything more than that and you're not losing fat, you're losing water.
If you want quick inches gone, you could try getting a body wrap. Not only does it feel great, but it helps detoxify the body. You could lose inches in an hour! My mom just got one and she lost 6 inches. The effect is not permanent, but it lasts a while. It should be followed up with good eating habits and exercise to achieve true weight loss.
5 REAL pounds of fat, not just water weight? No. You cannot do that in a weekend.
If you hardly eat the whole weekend, you will feel a lot thinner by Monday, though.
Go online and search for "Far Flush". I have done some of the kick-starts and one day flushes. You will not lose 5 lbs of fat but you will lose some weight on the scale.
Just remember you will be very hungry all weekend!
Before I got pregnant, I did the Master Cleanse for a week. I easily lost 5 pounds in the first three days, and I felt much better after the cleanse. I also went on an all-inclusive vacation immediately after the cleanse and didn't gain back any more weight than I would have normally on such a vacation. Like others have said, I don't know that it was "real" weight loss, but I think it is a good way to kick start real weight loss.
NO!
Anything that takes that much weight off is dangerous. If it's a matter of fitting into something, buy some extra industrial strength control top panty hose or Spanx.
Healthy weight loss is 0.5-1 lb/week. I worked in the Diabetes field for 8 years, and weight loss was a major issue both because it helped to cause people's diabetes (type 2) and because most medications caused weight gain.
Almost universally, anything that causes more weight loss than that isn't really good for your body. It stinks to put in all that work and see such small rewards (which is why most people get frustrated and abandon weight-loss plans).
If you "starve" yourself by a drastic reduction in calories, your body will go into starvation mode and adjust your metabolism to conserve as much energy as possible. When you resume your normal calories, you will regain ALL the weight and then some. That's why people rebound to a bigger size when they fall off the wagon.
Good luck. Please be sensible.
1-3lbs is the kick. If you haven't plateaued (staying at same weight for a couple of weeks) then just keep with the WW. Most people lose maybe 2 lbs a week on WW so you are ahead of the curve. Since you said you need to lose 5lbs by Monday seems like you need to fit into something. Go for the spanx and be proud of yourself for the weight you are losing now. I agree with everyone about a cleanse, you'll lose water weight but'll come back after you eat something and might throw you off your amazing progress.
1-3 pounds a week sounds wonderful!! I'd just be grateful for that.
No, I don't know any magic formula to lose 5 lbs. in 3 days, but if you haven't already cut high fructose corn syrup and trans fats out of your diet, I would try that. According to the book Ultrametabolism, these substances make your body want to gain weight. FWIW

there is a liquid juice diet you can buy at Walgreens. I used it before going on a trip a few years ago. Lost about 5 pounds in 3 days.
Try the South Beach Diet. It is great. You probably won't lose 5 pounds in a weekend, but you should lose some. And, if you stick to it long-term, you will be able to lose all you want and keep it off. Basically, for 2 weeks, you cut all sugars, including breads, potatoes, pastas, all rice, fruit. Then, you can slowly add in good carbs: whole wheat, some fruit, brown rice. I has worked really well for me and many people I know. Start the day with a good breakfast. I eat a 2 egg omelet with part-skim mozzarella and red peppers, onions and either turkey bacon or ham in it. Yum. And, it satisfies me for most of the day. I hesitated to start it because I LOVE breads, but it really isn't that bad. I will eat bread occasionally, but not often anymore.
I would love to lose 5 lbs in a weekend, I haven't found a way yet.
What you can do is exercise about an hour each day and cut out most/all carbs for the entire weekend including sodas, juice, and alcohol. Just eat mostly lean meats and veges and drink a lot of water. This will flush your system a little bit and reduce any bloating or water retention and could help.
I'm sure there is some way to do so, but I doubt it would stick for long, and I'm sure it wouldn't be healthy. 1 lb is 3500 calories, so can you cut out and/or burn 17,500 calories in one weekend? That sounds awful.
Now that I got that out of my system, wanted to share that my friend has been very successful with her 'lifestyle change' (not "diet"). She's changed her habits and has been able to keep the weight off. But at the beginning, to 'jumpstart' it, I remember her doing a liquid diet for the weekend. Perhaps you can google search 'liquid diet' to see what nutritous foods are entailed with that. She was also big on eating "superfoods."
