IUD Removal - Fremont,CA

I currently have the Copper IUD. My husband and I would like to start trying for another baby soon. Has anyone had problems getting pregnant once the IUD was removed? My Dr. told me that I should have at least one period after the IUD is removed before starting to get pregnant. Should I wait a little longer and have several periods before conceiving? Any complications with the baby because of the copper in the mother's system? Just curious!

What can I do next?

My friend had an IUD and she got it removed in the middle of the week and she got pregnant the next weekend. That happened really fast and she has a beautiful baby girl.

Good Luck

I have two beautiful children each conceived within two months of each removal of the IUD. They are healthy (and mostly grown (16 and 20). No issues at all.

Good luck.

I got the IUD removed in Jan - my doctor suggested waiting two months before trying. I got pregnant in April and miscarried at roughly 10 weeks. I got pregnant two months later and again miscarried at 5 weeks along. About three months later I got pregnant again and had a healthy baby girl. I don't know if the miscarriages were related to the IUD (Mirena) or not - it may have just been bad luck. Good luck to you!

I had my copper IUD removed in January, then got pregnant on my second cycle in February. You could start immediately, or you could wait it out one cycle, as I felt more comfortable doing. Good luck!

I had an IUD in for about three years. When I took my IUD out I was pregnant within a month or two. I don't remember waiting at all before trying to conceive and if I remember correctly I was told by my doc that I could get preganant immediatly. Good luck!

I had a copper IUD and it took me a year to get pregnant after removing it. But I doubt it took a year because of the IUD. We ended getting pregnant on our first IUI - so probably it was something other than the IUD.

I had the copper T too for 5 or so years. The doctor told me that it might take at least one cycle to get pregnant (it ended up taking us a year). Nevertheless, since the copper T has no chemicals/hormones there is nothing to wait for your body to rid itself of. I think the one month is to let your body begin to prepare for a baby. Good luck and enjoy the process ;-)
