In Mexico and many Latin countries we always celebrate Mother’s day on May 10, so I will be taking advantage of both celebrations and will be celebrating May 10 with some Latin friends as a girls afternoon off, and May 13 with my kids ;-)
My husband always works on Mother’s Day so I usually plan a trip to the zoo or someplace fun for the kids, as long as I don’t have to cook!

My husband makes breakfast, and then If the weather is nice, then my husband, son and I are going to take a walk by the lake again like we did last year and take pictures :) As far as presents go, I am wanting a massage and pedicure!

HA.. Whats mothers day??
No, I also just get a card from hubby bought either the day before or that day. and something the kids make at day care. I usually have to cook. BUT. sometimes they all surprise me, and they will take me out for breakfast, and buy me little treats..
Just depends.
But nothing major. But my kids are also small, so Im pretty sure as they get older, Ill get more. But this year, my 4 yo told me that she has to save all her money for sea world (cause I told them to start saving everything they find) that she cant buy me anything, So Im fine with that...

When my kids were little (like 4 to 10) they always did special things for me, homemade cards, presents and drawings, sometimes breakfast in bed. It was sweet because it came from THEM, it's not like my husband had to put them up to it!
As far as the way I spend the day? I get it OFF. I go do whatever I want to do (which varies year to year.) My husband gets the same treat on Father's Day :)

Mother's Day should be YOUR day to spend how ever you'd like!

I work a brunch every Mother's Day at the country club I've worked at, seasonally, since I graduated high school. Great money, I work with great friends & my sister (most also mothers).

LOVE it! I love my kids to the moon and back, but this is something that I enjoy doing, and I get a break. =)

We have gone to bruncha t the country club for years. It is one of the best and most elaborate brunches they have all year. We always look forward to it.

Other than that, just relax at home with each other, watch some golf, take a nap.

We usually have brunch at home. I get cards and sweet homemade gifts from my girls. But this year I will be out of town with my oldest daughter at a basketball tournament. The one and only request I make for mother's day is that if I want a nap, I'm taking it! And please don't wake me up!

Our only "tradition" is that Jeremy makes a special breakfast for us. French toast, fresh fruit, bacon, and mimosas, or eggs with lots of veggies, sliced potatoes, and bacon, and OJ. I don't really care what...I just like him cooking and cleaning it up again too. :) I never do breakfast in bed though---I don't like that idea at all, lol.
SOMETIMES (not every year, it depends on the finances) I'll do something like go get a pedicure or massage, but that's just an hour or two out of the day, and I still do stuff with the family. One time we went to the zoo, once we bought tickets to see Peter Pan at the children's theater but Joseph had a mean ear infection and we ended up not going. We got him some amoxicillin though, and while he slept a friend babysat so we could at least sneak off and go out to eat. Since moving here, we always do mother's day at the beach, with a light little picnic. The beach is free, and everyone loves it, so that's always our go-to plan now...if it was gross weather, I wouldn't know what to do!

I usually get a card that hubby bought the day before and had the kids sign. Then it's just any other day.

My oldest daughter and I used to have a tradition. We would go to the zoo on Mothers Day. We tried to go to a differant zoo every year, so it was usually a day trip or over nighter - just the 2 of us.

Now she's all grown up and I have 2 little ones. I always want to do something with them, while still relaxing. Usually church, then a picnic in the park or a movie or something fun for all of us.

This year, I'll be in my hometown, so, I'm planning to get all the girls in the family to go to brunch together.
