M.K.
Well, we were going to grill this weekend, but we just woke up to massive thunderstorms! So, we are going to have a crawfish boil in the garage. Crawfish, corn on the cob, potatos and smoked sausage with old bay seasoning. Yum!
I"m guessing a lot of people will be BBQ'ing for the 4th of July (or before) so I thought it would be fun to list what you'll be BBQ'ing.
We will BBQ steak & mushroom kebobs & probably marinated chicken

No bbq - we're having a fish fry!
I have baby back ribs and hot dogs to bbq. Mac salad, watermelon, cantaloupe, roasted bell peppers and onions. Cake of some sort, with ice cream and toppings.
We did steak tips and grilled asparagus yesterday. Will do chicken drumsticks today. Best steak tip marinade for anyone looking for one. Can be started a day or two in advance or a few hours.
Equal parts soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and sherry. I usually do 1/3 cup of each and use any red wine I have because I rarely have sherry. Add a couple of cloves of garlic, chopped, and some minced ginger (about a tsp works for me). Mix it all in a zip-top bag, add your steak tips, marinate until you're ready to grill! So yummy!
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire!!!
<grin>
It was my son's birthday yesterday, so he chose the menu:
Breakfast: Gyros in bed
Lunch : Sushi
Dinner : BBQ steaks, artichokes w/ butter, cabbage, mushrooms
Today: Leftovers & donuts
Tomorrow: Smoked Pork Sammies (our friends do sinful things with their smoker)
Grilled Jalepeno Poppers wrapped in bacon, stuffed with herbed chev
Blue Corn Habanero Muffins
Champagne sangria (yum, a friend's secret recipe I've been trying to pry out of her for 3 years now. One of these times I'm gonna do it!),
Virgin pina coladas for the kids (my son's contribution)
Grilled veggies
Devilled Eggs
Salads
MK!!!! I WANNA CRAWFISH BOIL!!!
Nada - we BBQ'd for my Baby Shower that was Saturday. We had chicken and steak kabobs, with peppers, pearl onions and pineapple.
I've got steaks and chicken and hamburgers and hot dogs...just to cover all the bases....I don't know yet!!! I need to get the consensus from the men!!
hmmm....pulled pork, brisket, bbq beans, corn on the cob, shrimp, ribs and these things called pork wings which are basically pork "drumsticks" without all the sinew. They are great!!
We cater bbq :) so :LOTS to answer your question! :)
We pulled out the smoker and we're doing brisket, pulled pork, ribs, a ribeye roast, and some chickens. For sides we have smashed potatoes, "burnt" broccoli, jalapeno poppers, cheesy pepper corn, homemade baked beans, yeast rolls. For dessert we have three different kinds of stuffed cupcakes, cherry cheesecake "casserole", brownies and whatever my girlfriend is bringing. (She was a pastry chef in New York. YUM!)
Every year we do a huge BBQ. (We're in the process of getting recipes together to open a restaurant and do catering.) So we go all out and make a huge deal of it and invite all our friends.
Nothing will compare to last year's BBQ though. We had two guys that hubby works with from the UK office for the July 4th BBQ. We had shirts made up for all of us. Everyone from the US office and their wives (so all but two of us...) had shirt with the American flag that said "We won the war!" The two UK guys had shirts with the British flag that said "We lost the war!" We gave them to the guys and they laughed so hard. We have some great pics of all of us together. Good times!
Well, I'm missing two BBQ's. My parents are going all out today with my brothers and they have the best BBQ's. I'm also missing my nephew's high school graduation party at my SIL's house, which is also doubling as a sweet 16 party for one of my nieces.
I'm sending my husband with my eldest daughter and youngest daughter to the graduation party while I stay home with my middle daughter. She's sick from what I think is a migraine. She's very pale, sleepy, weepy, and nonverbal so I can't find it in me to make her drive 25 minutes each way there and back, and if she pukes in the car I'll feel horrible.
So my husband picked up her favorite doughnut (coffee roll) and is picking up a pizza for me before they leave. I should have ordered BBQ chicken on it.
