Looking for a Church or Bible Study

Hi Gals,

I'm new to the area and my family has been seeking a new church home for 2 months now. We've tried several churches but haven't found "it". We aren't picky about denomination; so far we've tried non-denom's, lutheran (missouri-synod), methodist, baptist. :) We live on the af base, so preferably something near there, but I'm open to all suggestions. Do you have a church you love? We're specifically hoping to find an active church with some "young" married couples with kids. Children's programs are a must, somewhat contemporary style is preferable. We have high standards, but I don't think we are being unreasonable. Are we? In lieu of a church suggestion, anyone know of a good couples-with-small-kids type of Bible Study/small group? Thanks, and God Bless!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi ladies, thank you all for your suggestions. Through one of your suggestions, we actually roundabout found another church where we have settled! Faith Lutheran Church on Spain seems to fit our needs well and we are considering membership there. Thanks again!

I've heard sooo many great things about this church throughout my years in ABQ, but have never been there myself. My sister's little girl LOVES the daycare there. It's sounds really cool and I've heard great things about the minister. It is Unitarian and respects all religions, but with a Christian base, here's the website: http://www.uuabq.org/

Best of luck in finding the right one. I may just give it a try myself, hmmmm

P.S. I just noticed there are Sermon archives - text, audio, video - on the site

P.P.S - It's located at Carlisle and Commanche (which is just north of candelaria and south of montgomery).

Hi A.,

I don't know if this would be too far for you but my family attends Sagebrush Community Church. It is off of La Orilla and Coors Blvd. We love it! It is a large church but they also have small groups in all different areas of town you can be a part of. Pastor Todd is awesome, the music is contemporary and the kids program is great. (There are tons of young families that attend). My kids love going and are upset if we have to miss a service. They also have services on Saturday night. Here is the link so you can check it out. http://www.sagebrushcommunity.com/index.html

We have been going to New Covenant church and love it. It is a non denominational church right off of Paseo Del Norte east of Target. You can see it from the road. The people are very kind and loving and the childrens program is great. I have been taking a leadership class that has been really challenging me in my faith. And they have several small groups available all over town. Hope this helps.
