Can anyone recommend good OB or midwives not too far from Silver Spring? Thanks!
Try http://www.midwiferycareassociates.com/ ... I had my son with them in July at Shady Grove Hospital. We really loved them and the hospital, and they have an office in the business offices on the third floor of White Flint Mall.
Dr. Richard Footer in downtown Bethesda is wonderful.
Unfortunately there are no midwives anymore that are close to Silver Spring. It's sad that the Takoma Park midwives had to close their practice yrs. ago. The closest midwifery practice is Midwifery Care Associates in Rockville- White Flint Medical Bldg. The next closest is Wisdom Midwifery @ GW hospital in DC( Whitney Pinger's group) -###-###-####. You can also go to the Yahoo group-Birth Options Alliance-BOA and search for practitioners in the file section. If you need more info., feel free to contact me. I'm a birth doula in Silver Spring; and am familiar with most practices in this area.

I cannot recommend highly enough Midwifery Care Associates. They used to be in N. Bethesda but moved not too long ago to office space in the White Flint Mall, which they share with Simmonds & Simmonds Chartered (the OB.GYN practice they are incorporated with).
