Well what colors do you guys look good in? Like if you are all have dark hair and tanner skin you could all do white shirts. Or say your hubby and boys look good in a navey blue put them in that and you in a color that goes well with that like.....burgundy. Or a dark green for the boys and you in a cream top. Or you could wear a deep purple and have your boys in cream or brown sweaters. Basically you just want to stay away from the harsh colors that usually don't look so good in pictures mostly cause they're the colors only some people can pull off. Like Bright reds, black, yellow and orange.

I'd go with brown and green and cream. Brown is a little less harsh than black and you can find some really cute feminine tops in brown. Try to stay away from being too matchy-matchy and I've been told from photographers than solids are better than BUSY prints.

If you are white and any of you fair complection then a bright white will wash you out.
If you all do red and you dont' get the same reds then it will look unmatched.
My hubby usually wears his uniform but he did wear a blue suit one year, my son also in a blue sport coat, I in a red the girls in a very subtle green plaid.
In our church yearbook the best picture is the one with the dad and all three boys in suits, even the baby at a few months old, and all of them in red bowties, not ties but the little ones. then mom is in a pretty plain sweater with a gold chain of some sort.

Well, I'm a photographer and wearing all white, or all black is a nightmare. I would coordinate your colors but don't completely match. I love to see bright colors, but for fall and Christmas it's nice to see a variety of browns/tans, blues, green, etc. Hope that helps. You can also google "what to wear Wednesday" and a ton of blog posts from photographers will come up with ideas for what to wear.

Any combo of black, red and white will be really nice.
