I went on the Pro flowers website and ordered a $25 arrangement. By the time they added on everything it was $50! And they couldn't guarantee delivery when I wanted it--on Friday. Do you know how to get a decent online deal with ordering flowers??
I think you'll have MUCH better luck by finding out the closest or local flower shop in the city/town you're sending them to. I think they'd be MUCH more reliable.
I would just go online and find a local florist in the town where the recipient lives. Call the florist directly to place your order - the delivery fee should be nominal and there is a better chance the flowers will be fresh.
It's cheaper to find a local florist in whatever city you are sending the flowers--call them yourself, and give them the amount you want to spend. It's easy enough to find a florist on the internet. Also, this week is probably THE most expensive week to deliver flowers, due to Mother's Day. And of course everyone wants their flowers delivered on Friday or Saturday. If you are willing to have them arrive a couple days early, you can save some money. You will always pay a delivery charge, by the way, plus tax--so be prepared.
I think they all are getting pretty pricey... I have ordered flowers from walmart.com before though and they were nice!

You don't have to go on line. Go to Countryside Florist in Richfield or call them 1-800-685-1284. I swear by them! I know them personally, and I can tell you they will do a beautiful job, and the flowers WILL LAST!! The owner Sandy makes sure she gets only the very best quality of flowers, and her designers all very talented. They will pretty much do anything for you! If you can stop in her store, it is so big!! They are on Broadview Road just North of RT. 303. Good luck!!!
I've found it easier going through either my local florist, or a florist in the area where they are to be sent. If you can get a florist near the destination, you should be able to save a lot of the delivery charges. If you use one closer to you there will likely be a wiring fee, but they can usually tell you within a day when they can deliver them.

On the radio I heard that at pro-flowers you can save some money by entering the code word WGAR to see specials... Hope that helps.
Flowers are going to be fairly expencive right now as this is the holiday where the most flowers are purchased and sent (Yep, it even beats out Valentines Day!). Your best bet is to shop around. Check out all the flower sites and see what there current specials are. 1-800Flowers.com always has select bouquets that are deliverable same day and allows you to shop by sales and price ranges. I have used pro-flowers but really do prefer 1800flowers for price, service and selection. You may also want to check out FTD or pick something completely different to send your Mom like fruit, candy, cookies or jewelry because you may find that those are actually all cheaper choices at this point.
