Good Morning,
My first child is due in about three weeks and I am trying to decide between two different pediatric practices. Both come as recommendations from my OB, and I would like to hear opinions from other mommies on this group. I appreciate any honest feedback, good or bad. I'm in Pearl River, so traveling to NJ is not a stretch for me. Thank you in advance!
I do not use either of these practices but I have heard great things about The whole child & Dr.Rosen.

Congratulations on your upcoming birth!
We have been using Chesnut Ridge since our daughter was born 3 1/2 years ago. We now also take our 5 month old son to them as well. We have never encountered any problems with them and all the doctors on staff have been wonderful. We almost had to change from them due to an insurance change, but we were able to get into a plan than they still accepted so we were able to stay patients there. If we had to change the next choice of peditricans would have been the group at Old Tappan. I have friends that they take there children there and they seem happy there as well. I am sure which ever one you do chose you will be happy as they are both wonderful.
Another option - when I had my son I looked into Old Tappan and Chestnut Ridge Pediatrics and spoke to other parents. I eventually chose Broadway Pediatrics in Westwood NJ. They are great - I actually know a couple people who have recently left Old Tappan to go to Broadway Pediatrics. Good luck in your choice, I did not want to confuse you further but they really are great there.
I used Old Tappan, but our dr. (dr. Rosen) left and opened his own practice in Oradell (the Whole Child). I love him, so we followed him there. Dr. Rosen takes a more holistic approach and offers alternatives using herbs lots of times as remedies. He was very understanding of my request to delay vaccination and he was extremely supportive giving advice of which ones are better delayed and such. The other dr.s in the old tappan practice were very nice, but they didn't really have a holistic approach. I would have stayed there only if dr Rosen was still there, other than that they are just another practice to me, nothing special. Congratulations.

I cannot comment on a pediatrician, but you will eventually need a pediatric dentist and I SWEAR by Dr. Andrea Mattia in Old Tappan. She is amazing. Happy Thanksgiving!

I use Clarkstown Pediatrics and love them! I know they have an office right off of route 304 (by Babies R' Us) in Nanuet. Go talk to one of the docotrs there and get a feel for them. Good Luck!
