Hi there! I'm a 29 year old mom of 2 in Taylor. My son, Malachi (4) has autism. We also have a daughter, Molly, whose 9 months. My son just started at Burger East this week and he loves it! I belong to several support groups online that meet weekly/monthly to get together too. I'm part of A2-ASD-Biomed group, ArcDownriverNewGenerations, Autism_Downriver_Activities_and_Parents_Together_ADAPT, AutismSpecturmAssociation SE Wayne County Chapter. If you go on Yahoo groups and search for these, they should come up. There's great info from other parents and playdates for the kids. Let me know if I can help.

When he starts school this fall, since he's 2.5.. I'm guessing he's starting in either the Early On program or PPI. They should have information on local support groups and recreational therapy programs. My son has aspergers.. we participate on online support groups through Yahoo.

Good luck with your little guy!

Yes! Our agency, Parent Support and Advocacy Program (PSAP)has a downriver support group. It is run by my co-worker, Lori Huntington, and meets at the Trenton Church of Christ. Please email me at ____@____.com and I will put you in touch with her. (If that is too far to travel, I offer a support group in Westland.)-K..
