I know I need to see a doctor for my stomach problem I have been having. It's a pain right around my navel and hurts when I bend over, not all the time though. The pain has gone down considerably since I have had no meat, sugar, fruits, or yeast. But that weird pain is still there, and I can feel something too.

any suggestions, and anyone recomend a good doctor for this.

Thanks
K.

Hi K.,

I would also suggest that you start with your regualar doctor and see what they recommend. The others are right, it could be anything. I have been going through something similar and they have done a lot of blood tests and had an upper GI done and finally a scope and that showed I had a hiatal hernia. That doesn't sound like that's the case with you, but depending on your insurance, that's what you'll have to do.

My doctor referred me to a gastroentronologist named Andrew Grade and he's located over attached to Banner Desert. His number if you can just self-refer, is ###-###-####.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you! No picnic, I hear ya there.

please start with your primary care physician and he/she will direct you to the right doctors... (internal medicine/ GI specialist/ ob/gyn perhaps) depending on the findings and exams... A good exam is needed and definitely blood work and perhaps additional tests .... but definitely start with your primary if you haven't already... don't delay... do it soon plz... also, if it is related to your lower back/ spine, I can evaluate you to see what is going on with you and make recommendations. keep me posted plz

Hi K.- I have no idea what would be causing that pain- but you need to see a gastroenterologist. Dr. George Walker in East Mesa is great. He works for Digestive Disease Consultants and his number is ###-###-####. I saw him for some issues I was having and when I called back after my procedure for questions he even got on the phone personally to help out. He came highly recommended to me as well. Good Luck- Make sure you take care of this right away.

I'm no expert, but I was just thinking of a few things. It could be a stomach hernia, if you still have pain like that sometimes. I have a hernia that only bothers me for about 4 months when I'm pregnant (just had my 4th). It hurt me, but not constantly. Another thing you may want to try is a really good probiotic. You need to make sure when you get a probiotic that it is the kind that is refridgerated. My baby and I have a thrush infection and have tried to get rid of it for two and a half months. I was on the special diet, and making other major adjustments to lifestyle, and using a probiotic. I thought the probiotic I was using would help, but it was a heat-stable (room-temperature) probiotic and wasn't helping. Just over a week ago I switched to Metagenics brand probiotic in the capsules (needs refridgeration) and I think the thrush is almost gone. I really think it is from the probiotic.

Probiotics and plain yogurt (or Kefir - yogurt drink, can be found at Sprouts) are very helpful in getting the right balance of good bacteria in the intestines and bowels.

Another thought, maybe you have a form of celiac disease and should try cutting out gluten from your diet for a short time to see if it helps. And of course ask your doctor about it.

I know how hard it is to cut sugar, fruits and yeast out of your diet. I don't know how you are surviving while cutting out meat though. I have been cutting out yeast, wheat, gluten, sugar (or any artificial sweeteners of any kind - except Stevia), carbs, and dairy (except eggs and butter). I think that's hard, but maybe not as hard as what you're doing. Basically I can have as much low-sugar vegetables and meat as I want.

Keep up the good fight! I totally understand being in pain and being frustrated at not knowing what the cause is and trying to find answers. Good luck!!
