I am a SAHM in Virginia Beach. I have a daughter, 4, a son, 3 in 1 month, and another daughter, 9 mos next week. I am going to be homeschooling my children, and live in a neighborhood with no children my children's ages for them to play with. I am looking to find other children that mine can interact with. I am willing to go to zoos, parks, etc, but want to find other mother's that have children with similar interests to hang out with. If anyone has children this age, please let me know. My children are in desparate need of socializing. Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi J.
I know you wanted a church in Virginia Beach but the most spirit filled church I have found is in Norfolk. I started going there last November and got saved my first Sunday there. Since then the Lord has really moved in my life. However the devil has too in late February I lost my Daddy and my baby (I was pregnant) within just two weeks. The Lord touched me and kept me strong then the devil came again in the form of cancer. Im only 21 and just had a hysterectomy two weeks ago this Sunday. The cancer has already spread to my lungs, but the Lord is helping me and my prognosis is great. Of all the cancers I could have gotten this one is treatable. All I can do is praise God for that because all this could have been so much worse.
I know this is long but I want you to understand how special this church is. The women of my church have been cleaning my house for me and watching my children when I can't. They are true genuine Christian women with the love of Christ flowing from their hearts. I don't know what I would have done if I had not been saved when all this happened. The women of our church are mostly stay at home moms with kids ranging in ages from newborn to 13 but we have several 2-6 year olds. Most of us homeschool our children as well. We have even discussed getting together for field trips with the kids now that its warming up. We are a young lively church and I think your kids will get plenty of socialization. We have kids night every month this month its tonight at 7 and you are more than welcome. Its fun for all ages the parents come as well. I know its short notice but if you need a ride just let us know. I know it may seem to far but I asure you its well worth it we have couples that come from all over Hampton Roads (as far out as Suffolk and Ft. Eustis.) Well I hope you come to see us soon the church address is:
9508 Chesapeake st. Norfolk 23503
Pastor Jim's # is ###-###-#### and mine is ###-###-####
Services are Sunday at 10 am and 6 pm and Thursday at 7:30 pm
We also have prayer meeting Tuesdays at 7pm
Hope to see you soon - Stephanie

Hi J.-
We attend Kempsville Presbyterian Church (KPC) located on Kempsville Road in VB across from the Kempsville Library and police station. Let me tell you it is not your typical Presbyterian church! It is very spirit filled with tons opportunities for involvement for both children and adults of all ages. The homeschooled population is quite large. Our senior pastor and his wife have 7 children. They have all been homeschooled. Services are held on Saturday nights-6:30, Sunday-9:00, 11:00, and 2:00. With lots of bible studys and other activities throughout the week. Get more information at www.kpc.org

Hi J.! I'd like to invite you to our local online Christian parenting group. It's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChristianmomsgroupHamptonRo.... It's a great place to meet other Christian moms. Most of us have younger kids - babies, preschool, younger elementary.

We have playdates, holiday parties, book and Bibles studies, mother's night outs, etc. Plus we have online discussions and support each other with meals and prayer when we are going through hard times.

You have to 'apply' for membership and get approved before you can access the message board.

By the way, I have a daughter who is 4 and a son who will be 3 in one month!

Hope you come check us out!

H.
