Take a look at the article here:

What works for you is personal... but you need to do something early and often, every single day.

Attack it from all sides - mind/body/spirit.

Yoga. Or any exercise. Girl time. Alone time. Hubby and you one-on-one time. Healthy eating. Prayer.

Not sure if you're a spirtual person or not but it helps me when I pray. Also, exercise and taking deep breaths.
God Bless

You can go for a nice long walk, watch a comedy, get a massage and/or pedicure, I love to put on my Ipod and listen to music. If none of that works, get a nice bottle of wine and drink the whole bottle ;)

Do you like to walk? I love it.......especially in the woods...........if not, how about closing up the house, turn on the radio and dance/sing and jump around?

Do you like to read? Take yourself somewhere else in a book for a few hours.

My friend likes to take nice long hot baths.....so that is a thought.....

Others like to exercise....work out.....hit a punching bag.....

I'm sure you will get lots more ideas............take care and good luck.

i started taking these st. johns wort supplements online. I also started soaking with tea-tree oil in the tub when i can. it helps a LOT. more then any medication ever has surprisingly enough. Although i do buy my stuff online, because it is just a much better quality then what you get at the store. less fillers and more cost effective. things like that. message me if you like, i know how you feel!

Many great responses. I like the part about personality, that is so true. I find reading, time with friends, crafting (scrapbooking and rubber stamping) is big on my list. So my crafting can be done with friends and I get me time and crafting time. A long soak with scents, a day without anyone home. I hope these help..........good luck

It's hard to answer on so little background info - but one thing that ALWAYS helps me with stress is exercise - walking maybe 30-40 minutes 5-6 days a week.

Good luck.

Let it go. Focus your energy on important things. Serve others, maybe by volunteering at a homeless shelter or nursing home for game night. Learn to say no. Be truly grateful for what you have. Stay away from toxic people. Take time outs for yourself, read a book, take a bath, go on a weekly night out with the girls. Take a crafting class. Take deep breaths and mediate for a minute when you are stressed. Massage your scalp and temple area to relieve stress. Snack on healthy foods and do some yoga or exersize every day. Plant some flowers and go on walks. Pray for strength, comfort and for thanks.

Without knowing specifics, it's hard to say, but hopefully the above will give you some ideas.

Interesting reading the responses - they are so based upon personalities. Your first response was "Let it go!" - I hear that a lot, but it's not always possible pending your personality or the situation.

Stress is all relative, and I appear to be drawn to it. Even after a battle with cancer 2 years ago, I haven't learned to rid myself of it.

Things that do make me feel better are walking, writing in a journal (which I haven't done in years), funny movies, playing with my kids (the kind on the floor where they get the deep belly laughs), helping other people.

I try not to surround myself with people I can't relate to, but we can't always choose the people in our lives (family, neighbors, coworkers). My husband is going to start yoga soon to help destress himself based upon the advice of his therapist. We both have been so stressed the past 5 years, something has to give, and I give him a lot of credit for seeking someone else's advice.

Of course, my husband also wants to start Fight Club.

Good luck! I hope you find something helpful.

Shelly,

As a Health and Wellness Advisor I am convinced that stress play a huge roll in our health. It is a fact that stress affects 100% of all diseases.
So I always advise people on ways to manage stress.

First of all stress is a result of how we react to things that happen around us - not to us. So to manage stress better - we must react in a different way.

Find and/or schedule some QUIET TIME for yourself, everyday.
Do some breathe work and/or centering during this time to de-stress.
This is something you can do without cost and it work better than any antidepressant...and there are NO harmful side effects.

If what is happening around you can be changed and you are the one who can change it - then change it. If you can't do anything to change it then do whatever you have to do to accept or adapt to it so that it no longer is a stress to you. The mind is a powerful thing you are in control. Take control of your life and make things happen rather than let things happen to you.

EXERCISE is always a good stress reliever and build s health at the same time.

EAT HEALTHY because stress uses up a lot of nutrients needed to build health.

If you are looking for something natural to help you with your stress, get better sleep or maybe just lift your mood a bit and bring some sunshine into your world check out http://S..myshaklee.com/us/en/category.php?main_cat=Nutri... De-Stress Better Sleep and Be Happy
It's all safe, effective, 'green' and GUARANTEED or your money back!!

I hope this has been helpful - Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further service to you.

Are we talking Hot Fudge Sundae stress or weekend in The Bahamas stress? ;-)

Walk, yoga, shop, go on a roller coaster, scream out loud--IF you are in your car--IF you're alone and the windows are up!

Watch a really funny movie On Demand or DVD and laugh, laugh, laugh!

I know that there are times when coffee and a bagel at Panera ALONE or with a pal feels like a tropical vacation to me. Just some alone time.

You probably need a little alone time or time with some girlfriends. I always feel refreshed when I've been away from the husband and kids even it's just for 1/2 and hour! Some friends and I started a Dinner Club and we take turns picking restaurants and we go out and splurge a bit. We drink wine, order appetizers and even dessert (gasp!) and just have fun!

Even last night I just went on a walk around the block...it took me about half way around to feel relaxed, but even just after 20 minutes I was happy I took the time for myelf.

Health and Wellness advisor? More like Shaklee distributer. Either way, Shelly has some good ideas.

My input: Pray. Exercise. Read. Fresh air. Journal. Hobbies. Meditate. Love yourself. Help others. If you try these ideas and the ones the others have already suggested, you might want to see a professional therapist. It may be a chemical imbalance in your brain. It could be a medical issue, not a mental one. Above all, pray. Pray for health and peace.
