Hello. My mom is a house cleaner and I don't think she has every been tipped, but she has been given bonuses for Christmas. Or sometimes her ladies give her extra money when they feel there house is more dirty then usual (like after a party or holiday). I don't think you should tip her.

We don't tip every time but do give a bonus at the end of the year.

I love our house cleaners. We've been using them for about 9 years now. We tip every time, although I don't think they expect it. But they really do a fantastic job and if I ever feel like anything was overlooked, they come back and re-do.

I cleaned for years, and normally was only tipped around the holidays, if the house was abnormally dirty (after a party etc) or an extra "chore" was requested of me.

I have a housecleaner every two weeks and I do not tip, just pay her rate. But do give a bonus or some type of gift during the holidays.

Hi K., I tip during the holiday's, or if I asked for something above and beyond. On normal visits I just pay the agreed rate.

Generally, no.

Usually household staff is given birthday and seasonal 'thank you' gifts, worth about what you'd tip them through the year. If they do a particularly good job, or stay the same person throughout...

Just pay the agreed rate, and (if you want) give them a Holiday bonus in December. Good luck-

No need to tip. Sometimes people give a bonus/tip at the holidays. If you call them in for an extra job, like to get ready for a big party or something, you might consider a tip in addition to their fees then since they made extra time in their schedule for you.

I don't get tipped, but sometimes recieve a little more if a house is dirtier than normal.

I give a bonus during the holidays and I know when their birthdays are, so I always get them a little something. Other than that, no.

Hi Mama-
I used to do some housecleaning, and I don't ever remember being tipped by my customers.
I say, if she does a really phenomenal job, then after a few months offer a small tip or bonus in appreciation. But the agreed upon rate is all your cleaner should be expecting, and you don't want to put out the message that tips are par for the course. She is earning a wage, like any other job, and as long as the rates are fair, tips are bonuses for doing an extra great job...but not regular items, and certainly not expected.
I hope that helps!
