My son seems to have an odd angle to his peeing. He always has it shoot out way to the left and a little up. Do all your boys have a normal pee comes out aiming in front. I can foresee a lot of issues when he starts standing up to pee. Note: He was circumcised. He has an appointment in a few weeks to talk with the ped. but just curious as to whether anyone has gone through this and what we might expect to hear from the pediatrician.

What can I do next?

If he's sitting down, he might not have good control over where it goes. It might be something as simple as that.
I have a son, I have a nephew, I've done daycare and have lots of experience with little boys. Even when they stand up to pee, a speck on the wall can distract them and their aim will go out the window. Not exactly literally, but.....
Aiming and shooting straight certainly takes practice.
I hope everything goes well with the pediatrician, but I actually think things will work themselves out once he begins standing to pee. My dad taught my son and nephew how to do it when they were itty bitty. They went on a little walk and they had a special rock in the yard he showed them how to aim and pee on. He also built little stools for them to stand on in front of the toilet so they could pee standing up in the house without whizzing everywhere.
Let's face it....even if it comes out straight, if they aren't aiming right, it's like a fire hose gone crazy.
Best wishes!

My son pees straight out and that seems to be normal for all of the little boys I've taken care of. There could be some kind of abnormality in how his urethra was formed. That is the only reason I can think of, but I am sure your doctor will be able to tell you.

I have a friend who has three sons, all of them had this same problem and had a minor surgery to open the hole up all the way. I think this is very common and easily treated, I'm sure your pediatrician will know what is best.

ive heard that this is more common in circumsized boys :( uncircumsized it would actually point down and go right into the toilet. but circumsision seems to interphere with that normal stream and make it go in a variety of directions; usually up a bit. to the side is less common as i havent heard of that as much, but i hope your doctor has some (non adjusting) related answers for you.

I have a friend who's son had that problem. They noticed it when he started to stand up to pee to. His was way off. He ended up having to have minor surgery to move his hole.

I have two 4-year-old boys and one has this same problem (the other does not). He just had to learn to point it straight down when he stands up to pee. No biggie! It took a little trial and error when he was 2 and potty training, but he's a pro at it now. Good luck. :)

Hi H.,
Both my sons' pee will come out at a crazy angle every now and then. My hubby says that sometimes the sides of the hole stick together a little bit, and that will make it shoot out sideways - lol!

He is a good Papa, and teaches them how to fix little spritzing issues like that.

Good luck.

I don't think my son's is as pronounced as yours is...but...here's my story: at my son's fifth birthday party, we basically had a bunch of friends over to play outside and eat ice cream cake. My kids are used to peeing outside (we have a farm we'll move to soon; we pee outside to keep deer from our garden when we're not there) so my son found a tree and peed. His friend promptly dropped his drawers and peed too, and the first thing I noticed? Their streams are ENTIRELY different. So..my son's stream does go off to one side and up a little, though he can still make it in the toilet easily without too much work. That said, if you foresee it being a big problem, perhaps it is pronounced enough to warrant a check, which it sounds like you're doing.

I've heard of something like this before, but I don't remember what the condition is called. Ask your doctor - I'm sure it's nothing terribly serious.
