I posted earlier requesting prayer because there were big storms moving in and my daughter had her graduation at that time. While we were there, there was golf ball sized hail for several minutes and very heavy rain. Thankfull though, no sirens went off and everyone was safe.
At the same time, my brother who had come from Joplin to be at the graduation, received a text from a member of his church saying that Joplin had been hit by an enourmous tornado. The worst of the storm was at the end of the road where my brother lives. My brother stayed through the ceremony not knowing if he would even have a home to return to when it was over. As a minister and a school teacher, he began sending messages out to his members and students to ask if they were okay, still not knowing the condition of his home and his church. (He lives in the parsonage on the church property.)
A little while after he left the ceremony and went to my parent's house, he received a call from a woman who goes to his church saying that she had been to the church and parsonge and inspite of the devastation all around, they were still standing. There was debris all around, but the buildings are intact.
I am so very thankfuul for your prayers today, and while I know not everyone believes as I do, I believe we saw a miracle today. Please, if you don't mind me asking one more time, pray for my brother as he travels home tonight, and in the days to come as he returns to a devistated community and tries to support and comfort his church and students.
So, back to my subject line, what can I say besides thank you for your prayers, and God for his listening ears.
WOW - I hope his neighbors and parish are all OK. I'll be thinking of them.

God love us. That's what you can say :) I know that bad things happen and a lot of the world thinks he's like an angry or absentee father. But he tells us where 2 or 3 gather in his name, there he is. I think he wants us to read his word and follow it. Even then sometimes we must endure to learn something whether we like it or not.
I'm glad he's okay and hope the community is able to get on track again soon.
You HAVE to keep in touch and let us know how you and your family are doing. All these tornados and devastation...the whole country is praying for families as your.
I pray your family is okay. From what I saw on TV it was pretty bad.

I am a native Springfieldian, my entire family is back home. I am so grateful that your brother was not in the midst of all of this. I know the damage there is massive. My entire family is back in that area, and my best friend rode out the storm in a closet with her five year old. Thank God they are ok. I will pray for your family and for every family affected by this storm. I will be headed back to Springfield on Sat, I am hoping to head to that area to help if I can.
