If she is in a 4, I wouldnt go bigger than a 5, unless her feet are growing a lot. I always get my daughters rain boots one size bigger (she is only 4 though) and they always last the year. Hoped this helps
My DD will be 10 in Jan. She's been wanting some rain boots so I want to get her some for Christmas. She's in youth size 4 shoe. Should I get them bigger? The largest size for kids is a 5, then it goes to a 6 in ladies. Should I get a youth size 5 or maybe move up to ladies size 6 so that she has room (and more time) to grow and use them longer? I've never owned a pair of rainboots, lol.

I say, stock up and get both sizes.
The difference in sizes, is not much, actually.
And the styles for kids... is much different than for 'ladies' sizes. So if you get the 'girly' kids rainboot styles now... then she can always use it. I am sure, she won't find "ladies" styles, very cute... or attractive.
good luck,
Susan
I wear a size 7 shoe and a girls size 4 fits me perfect. Girls shoes are sized differently so that when they have adult sized feet they can still buy shoes that are suitable for little girls. Just take a pair of her shoes that fit nice and loose to the store with you and compare the soles.
I'd get the youth 5. Rainboots tend to be cut kind a roomy anyway, and it won't be fun to wear boots that are too big this year (especially if they're too small by next year). She won't grow more than a full size this winter.
Also, just a note, check the size charts for children and women's sizes. A youth 3 is the same as a ladies 5! So a ladies 6 might actually be SMALLER than the youth 5 you're thinking about getting her anyway.
