Where Can I Find Some Cheap Rates for Posting Ads?

I recently started my own business and am looking for others to work with me. I have placed a few online free ads and found out that you get what you pay for. I've looked in newspapers and even some of the local ones charge $50 a week for a little ad in the help wanted section.

Do you have any ideas that would help me? I've been passing out lots of business cards and talking to lots of people as well as looking into advertising. I started doing this to make money, not spend more.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your advice. I also posted the same question on a money-saving site I go to and they came up with local.com and Kijiji. I have had a few people ask me about what I do and I have an ad posted on this site that you can look at. My company name is Janik's Healthy Advantage. I am cautious about the no spam policy, so that's all I will say. Thanks again!

I know a lot of companies (my husband's included) that post help wanted ads on Craigslist.com My husbands boss posted an ad there and by the end of the day had over 20 responses so people are working there. Good luck.

Try posting in college newspapers - they are usually cheaper, like COD or Wheaton College, or whatever is closest to you. Also, craigslist.com is awesome for that. Good luck starting your new business! Sometimes you can put up home-made flyers and the Jewel or Dominick's, or I've seen them at Jimmy John's or the laundromat.

You might try Craigs list. We used to live in Denver and own our own business and I used it all of the time. they have a section for job postings. It was free in Devner, but I did notice that some big cities charged. Take a look. www.craigslist.com

I know that my friends and I are always checking craigslist. It is free and you will get good exposure there. I've listed with craigslist in the past and have always done well, whether it was renting my condo to selling a stroller!
What is your business and what types of positions are you looking for? You may have luck with mamasource too!
Good luck!

M.,

I also look on Craigslist to find opportunities. Like the others, I would be interested in finding out more about what you do.

You can start by posting your business on this source for nothing. It's a free service. I'm sure this reaches hundreds or thousands and costs nothing.

I would just like information about what type of jobs you are offering. I (and some friends) are always looking for jobs for either ourselves or for networking. Please contact me. J.
