I will be visiting my grandparents gravesite soon and wanted to place something nice on or between their gravestones. I was thinking maybe a wreath with silk flowers on it but, would love to hear your ideas out there. I definitely need to know where I could get something like that in Dallas? Please help!

What can I do next?

Michael's or Hobby Lobby can help you find a nice wreath. If you don't want a wreath, you can buy the little plastic vases with a spike on the base so you can stick them in the soil. We have one of the vases at my twins' grave, and we replace the silk flowers every season as the flowers start to look weathered and worn.

I hope this helps!

I recommend that you contact the cemetery to make sure they have no restrictions on beautifying the gravesite. There are some cemeteries that only allow cut or living flowers. Artificial flowers fade and grow raggedy over time, so if have only a caretaker instead of a groundskeeping crew, his helps make the work of tending the cemetery and keeping it tidy less labor intensive.

I have been to cemeteries that allow objects like shepherd's hook and windchimes to be placed on the gravesite. Different faiths also have different customs and rituals which may or may not be permitted on sanctified earth in a cemetery.

I have family in the floral/importing business and I sold supplies like this to florists for years.

Your local florist should have something, if not, Hobby Lobby and Michaels carry items that are good for gravesites.

Like the other respose noted...you have choices between wreaths, spikes which hold a flower arrangement and some other types of holders which will clip onto a grave marker.

Silk flowers hold up well.

My mother is buried at Laurel Land in Oak Cliff (Dallas) and they have a florist on site. We used to go there and order what's called a floral "blanket" which cover the entire area of the plot. During this season they have lots of Christmas items on the blankets and they look beautiful. I'm sure other florists can do these but I don't know the names of any. They might be a little pricey so you may want to look into them first.
