Has anyone used the Nuva ring. This is my first month and I took it out Sat. night and never started my period. During the month my breast were also very sore and I have been very cranky lately. are these side effects? I had wanted to be on and IUD because we dont think we want anymore children but My dr. talked me out of that and into the Nuvaring.

What can I do next?

I used it for a bit to control my heavy periods. I hated it. It made everything really sensitive (and not in a good way). Sex was uncomfortable for a long while, and I was nauseous all the time. Didnt work for me, but then I know that not everyone will experience those side effects. Just putting in my 50cents. Good luck with whatever you go with.

I have used the Nuvaring for a couple of years now and I havent had those side effects. I know there are side effects but I'm not sure what they are. I have tried other birth controls but the Nuvaring seems to work best with me. In fact that's why I like it because it doesnt give me side effects. You should speak with your doctor to see if the side effects you are getting are side effects of taking the Nuvaring. Make sure you leave the ring in for 3 weeks, then take it out for one week, and a ouple days after your menstral cycle should start. I was accidnetially taking it out two weeks and got pregnant. Good luck!

Hello,
I am the mother of a 16mo old and after I had my son I tried Nuva ring and honestly I felt it made me sick. I started feeling queesy almost everyday and didn't want to eat. I think its a good way to go(if your willing to deal with the side effects) Good luck

I currently use the Nuva Ring and when I take it out, it does take a couple of days before my period comes. Now when I say a couple I mean 3/4 days AT THE MOST. My only side effect was that it decreased the effectiveness of another medication I take. No medicine affects everyone the same and if you are concerned about the side effects, explain it to your doctor. Maybe you can try giving the ring one more go around and see if your body just needed to get used to it. If you want the IUD though, be firm with the doctor in your decision. Good luck to you :)
