I don't drink coffee, but I LOVE it for hot tea and hot chocolate! My boys use it all the time, too. We got it for my husband (for coffee) last year for Christmas, and he was thrilled, but it's really a gift for the whole family.
Anyone have a Keurig? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it. Do you use the cups or use the refillable ones. Just pretty much anything you can tell me about it good or bad. My husband brought up that maybe I can ask for one for Christmas. I drink 1 cup of coffee a day. On weekends I make two cups for both of us. Right now I just have an 8-cup pot. Thanks!

I love mine! I've only had it a couple of months.
We got the professional one with a larger water reservoir.
I got it at Costco on sale for $149 and it came with 60 k-cups. The same machine was at penny's for $189 with 12 or 24 k-cups.
You can get a quick cup of hot water for other uses. I use broth for my dogs' food daily and I just put broth granules in my cup then run hot water into the cup. Super fast and quicker than the microwave. Easy
I got extra k-cups for guests with asst teas, hot cocoa, decaf coffee.
I only run filtered water in it. The k-cups can be found on sale at many places. We don't use the special filter, just k-cups then trash them when done. Super easy cleanup, fast cup of hot coffee, etc.
So far, I have no negative experience with it. I'm typically 1 cup
In the morning unless I'm freezing cold.
I love mine! I drink 1-2 cups a day. The kids use it for hot chocolate, we don't use the pods they just brew hot water into a cup and add the powder. I use both the refillable and disposable cups. Refillable is cheaper and more environmentally friendly, but kind of a pain in the butt. I bought a pack of 5 refillable cups and fill them all on Sunday, then use them throughout the week. I also get the disposables, they are very easy but more expensive. Only thing I don't like about it is when entertaining it costs me a fortune and takes forever to offer everyone coffee. Also when my MIL comes it gets a little pricey since she and her husband drink 4-5 cups a day each.
ETA: Keurig is partnering with Campbells to come out with soups for the Keurig, talk about an easy lunch fix!
I use my Keurig to make lemonade, apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee for guests, and much much more.
The little cups that go into it are so neat and tidy. I love that. There is no pot to wash and no mess. I do the water, put the cup in, push the lid down and push brew.
I love the different things I can have at a moments notice. The little cups are sanitary and don't go bad for a long long time. If I had a container of hot cocoa powder in the cabinet it would probably go bad or get spilled before I used it all so I like the small cups.
They are worth it to me to not have messes to clean up and not to throw expired or spilled stuff out.
I don't even drink coffee and I love ours. My SO uses it for coffee, and I enjoy the teas, while my kids love the hot chocolates. We use both pre filled cups and self fill ones depending on mood.
I got a Keurig a few years ago as a birthday present. I wanted to be able to make just one cup of coffee instead of a whole pot when my husband was traveling. It works great for that! and also for making a cup of hot chocolate or a cup of decaf coffee for a guest. We have bought some of the Keurig cups and I also bought the refillable ones (at Bed, Bath & Beyond- 4 cups for $9.99 )and will sometimes use flavored coffees that I enjoy occasionally. I will let you know that I got a letter from Costco after I bought mine to remind me that I needed to use filtered water so that the Keurig would not clog up. Haven't had any problems with it since I started using filtered water from the refrigerator.

While I don't personally have one - my father does. He loves it! I used it to make hot chocolate and tea for me while I was at my parents home caring for my dying mom.
My mom did use it to (and the filter you can buy) to make broth for soups. It was faster than putting it in the microwave or boiling it on a stove...
It makes coffee, hot chocolate or tea quickly.
You aren't stuck buying the K-Cups - there are filters you can purchase to use the coffee you prefer.
I got one for my husband a few years ago. We LOVE it. He's a coffee drinker and I am not so he gets his coffee (very quickly too), and doesn't waste a bunch. His Starbucks habit dropped dramatically too, so we ended up saving money on the whole deal.
We do use some cups, but mostly he uses a refillable, the one with the paper liner. We had one that was a gold mesh, but it didn't work well and was a pain to clean. The Cups are kinda expensive, so we use them more as special treats.
Love the easy cleanup (just your cup) and the kids use it for hot water for hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, and hot tea.
I have had a Keurig and also a Tassimo. I prefer the Keurig although I have to tell you that we went through 4 of these machines until we finally got one where the water pump and fill mechanism didn't keep breaking. This was back in 2011 when there were certain lot numbers of these machines that were defective and would break shortly after you bought it. It was super annoying but in all cases, Keurig did step in and replace all four coffee makers with a new one. By the 4th one, we had bought a Tassimo as back-up. Tassimo had been out long before Keurig and has never broken or had any problems in our home. The problem is that Keurig was and still is a very aggressive company and formed partnerships with just about every coffee and tea distributor on the face of the planet! They even ousted Tassimo from Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts as well! That means that the majority of coffee hat is made is now in K-cups and the competitors are really struggling to keep up. I do love our Keurig as there's no waste and the choices of coffees, teas, and specialty drinks is amazing! They are coming down in price now too as the system is no longer new. My husband and I only drink one cup of coffee per day so it's nice to not have to make a full pot that will get thrown away. My kids love the hot chocolate and the Vanilla Chai Tea as well. I say go for it! It really does make a wonderful cup of coffee and it's so convenient. GET ONE!!
My husband and kids got me one two years ago. Honestly, it spends more time sitting on the counter than being used. I'm VERY picky with my hot drinks, and only once found pods I liked. I don't drink regular coffee, but espresso. So it doesn't work for that.
The kids use it for hot chocolate though and it's perfect. I hadn't thought about using it for just boiling the water for them - we will do that!
We have one here at the office. We also have a Hamilton Beach Brew Station. I like the Brew Station better because I don't have to wait for that second cup. The Keurig works good sometimes and not so good other times. For instance, you can push the botton for the tall cup and get less coffee than if you pushed the botton for the small cup. Then you push it again, and you get the rest of your cup. You just never know how much coffee you're going to get - it's hit or miss. But if we were just doing one cup of coffee in the mornings, the Keurig would be okay - except for the price of the coffee. To me, it makes my vice too expensive.
I have a Mr. Coffee that uses the cups. I love it! I make a cup each morning (I actually run two cups through one of the K cups). I'm the only one drinking coffee so it works great. I had a small regular coffee pot for a while but I ended up not using it very much. I use my Mr. Coffee every day. I love all the different flavors. easy to use, quick, no mess
I love it. Didn't think I would use so much but we got rid of our regular coffee maker and just use the Keurig. My mom got it for us last year for Christmas. Costco usually has a good deal. We use it about as much as you say you would. But I do make tea sometimes and hot cocoa with it. I just use the cups...it's easier. I like it because you don't have to make a pot for 2 people who only want one cup. Or like my husband and I, we like different coffee's so we can each have what we want.
LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. Use refillable cups.

LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. Use refillable cups.
I love my Keurig. I don't drink coffee but it's great for tea, either the k-cups or just using the hot water for tea bags. My husband uses the coffee and loves the different flavors. You can get a lot of different flavors at Bed Bath and Beyond, they're reasonably prices and they always have 20% off coupons. I have never had a problem with cup sizes, it's always the same. For the person that complained about that, maybe it's because it's not cleaned properly at the office. I've had mine for over a year with no problems.
My husband has one and loves it. He uses both the cups and the refillable adapter. The one thing he found with the adapter was that for some reason, it leaked when he tried to use it. He went to the hardware store and bought a rubber washer (gasket) to fit in the space on the top and it no longer leaks. Easy fix! The refillable one is definitely cheaper than using the cups all the time. I love using it just for the hot water to make hot chocolate (you can also buy hot chocolate, tea, etc. to use in the Keurig!).
