My First Prayer Request

It's been a long roller coaster ride with my aunt. A few years ago she had leukemia and got a bone marrow transplant. She got through the process fairly easily. I don't remember ever being worried for her. I was sad that she had to go through all of that, but I was never worried that she wouldn't make it. Then last year the problems started again. Her body stopped producing white blood cells. She was having blood transfusions at least once a week. A month or two ago she had her second bone marrow transplant. The transplant itself went okay. But then a week later it went down hill. The doctors promised my grandma that they would tell her if they were worried about her condition. Well, last week they called and said that they are worried. She has graft vs host disease. Also, because of all the medications they have to pump into her, her brain has become too fatigued to think straight. When you ask her a question, it takes a few minutes for her to form the response and sometimes the response doesn't quite make sense. On Saturday all of my aunts and uncles met with my grandparents at the hospital and they held a small prayer service for her while they tried a third treatment for her GVHD. They came back with good news. The GVHD was gone! We were all very relieved. Yesterday they decided that the test results stating that she didn't have GVHD were false. They are almost positive that she still has GVHD. Also, on top of that, she has pneumonia. Today they called and said that they don't think she is going to make it. When they told my aunt and asked what she wanted to do, her response was, "Fight, fight, fight!" She hasn't said more that one word responses in days (And even that is rare) because of the brain fatigue, so hearing her say that was a miracle to me.

I'm not too religious. I don't believe in a specific religion, just that there is some one up there watching out for us. But will you please take a moment to pray for my aunt? Pray to whatever God you believe in, I'm not picky. Pray that she will survive this, but also pray that if she does pass away she does so without any further pain. I know that at the moment she is in a lot of pain, both physically and emotionally.
