J.K.
.
Okay, I have been really stressed and depressed, but one of my girls made me laugh so much yesterday so I had to share.
I was on the phone with my mother talking about how someone I know thinks they can just wave money around and get people to do their bidding. I said," Geez, he sure has a high opinion of himself and his money. He thinks his money talks louder than anything else." Tori, sitting in a rocking chair coloring, starts laughing, and says,' Ha ha ha, money doesn't talk!"(tone of voice saying- what sillyness, we all know this) (I had no idea she was even paying attention, let alone that she took it literally)
Then, I was telling Mom that Tori had buried a toy dinosaur in the gravel at the park and we couldn't find it. I was past ready to go and she was screaming and crying about her dinosaur and in exasperation I said,"If you want to find your dinosaur before we leave you better start praying!!!" Well, her twin did and I and Tori joined in (Tori between sobs), and as soon as Bren said "Amen" I looked up and noticed a pile of gravel taller than the rest in an area I didn't even think she had played. I went over to it and nudged it over with my foot and there was dino!" (I got a thorough lesson in prayer and humility that day!)
As I relayed this story to Mom, I called the gravel pea gravel and Tori, once again listening when I didn't think she was, said(as she slid out of the rocker),"Eeww, Gross!" I said,"What's gross?" Tori says," PEE gravel, eeww!"
Later, she came running to me, out of breath. "Mommy, I ate a bubble!!!" Me "Were you trying to?" Her-" Of course not, what do you think I am?"
Soo, anyone else have a chuckle today/yesterday that lifted your spirits? (we also had a tickle "fight" right before bed- good fun)
.
I loved reading this! Thanks for the laugh - the bubble part reminded me of Toy Story 3 when the "bad guy" strawberry bear was told that he had better keep his mouth shut or he'd swallow bugs while attached to the front of the garbage truck!
My son had just potty trained and was outside on the playground when he came to the teacher right before recess was over, asking if he could go to the potty. She asked him if he could hold it. He looked at his hands and said "What do you want me to hold?" She laughed so hard at that comment that she told every parent that day the story. I'm so glad she got such a kick out of that!
Dawn
Aw! She sounds like a cutie!
My 4 year old says hilarious stuff all the time but this one is from Sunday:
Dad: "Are you ornery today Aubrey?"
Aubrey: "No Dad, I'm not a TEENAGER!!"
Kids are so much fun! And I do pray for lots of missing things - and other things, too. God has a sense of humor, and knows how much I need His help every single second!
I was out of town last week meeting a new grandbaby. His big sister Kimmy (aged 2-1/2) thinks he is just great! His name is Joshua but his daddy was calling him "Dude" just for fun, and Kimmy picked up on it. Yesterday, I heard, he has decided to call his son "Junior" - not because he *is* a Junior but because his first two initials are J. R. (Joshua Ryan). And Kimmy piped up, "Daddy, his name isn't Junior! His name is Dude!" The boy may be twelve before he knows what his real name is.
That is so cute! I love things like that! She sounds so smart and witty! I was just thinking last night after i put my son to sleep how the little things are the best! i.e your stories and when i open the fridge for a snack and see the my son had bit through the plastic of the sliced cheese not opening it just has his little teeth prints in it lol
today I had to take my mom to the Dr and I was in the bathroom stall with my daughter. I said "oh great", mom asked what was wrong.. I told her I just got my period and don't have anything with me. I stood up to pull my pants up and my 3 yr looked in the toilet and said .. ohh mommy you have a boo boo on your butt? Both mom and I started laughing and I told her its ok honey, I'm fine.
As mom came back into the waiting area after her appt, a nurse followed and my daughter ( I thought was running up to mom) went up to the nurse and said do you have a band-aide for my mommy? She has a boo boo on her butt and is bleeding.. I turned 10 shades of red ( as she wasn't quiet) and picked up my daughter and said sorry... it took a min for the nurse to catch on and then started laughing.
I walked very quickly out of the office..
Oh, yes! My girl is 3.5 and picking up such a fantastic sense of humor (and some 3-going-on-13 attitude)!
Daddy's been in a "sour mood" for the past couple of days, and last night we were waiting in the car for him to collect his "things" and get in the car. She asked me in all seriousness "can the Grumpy Old Troll sit by me?" I didn't tell him, but later, when we were picking our seats at the table she jumped in the chair next to his and said "I want to sit by the Grumpy Old Troll!" Ha ha!! (The Grumpy Old Troll is a character from Dora who seems grumpy, but is really just "misunderstood" and always ends up in a better mood.)
Last weekend, she went fishing with my mom and grandma and she had sticky mess on her hands. My mom told her that she needed to clean her hands before the bees came to lick her. She said "gramma, bees don't lick!" Mom says, "yeah, that's right, they bite, don't they?" She responded "No, gramma, they don't bite, they *sting*!" Then she rolls her eyes and walks away muttering "ha! lick!" (like, silly gramma!)
Oh, this girl keeps us cracking up!
This was actually a couple weeks ago, but we were sitting down to dinner and I put a plate in front of my two year old and he says thank you. Then I put a plate in front of my husband, and my son looks at him and shakes his finger and says "what do you say daddy?" to funny.
my 4 year old has a lightening mcqueen that used to change colors, but doesn't anymore.... so I took him to the store last night to get a new one. The cashier was talking to him (and they know us there), and I said something about him being rotten (he's the baby of 4, so he is spoiled rotten)... He looked at the cashier with a stone serious face and said "I'm only rotten sometimes."
Just last night my older daughter, (who just started her period a few months ago) yelled from her room for me to get her a pad. My 3 yr old heard this and started to grab my iPad off my dresser to give to my daughter!
haha i thought it was the cutest thing! So i then had to explain to her that older sis was talking about a different kind of 'pad'. Lol
my 7 is taking a Spanish class and we were talking about places I have traveled too.I was telling her about our honeymoon in hawawii and the cool people there. She looked at me and said, " how did you understand them?" I wasn't getting it, so she says, 'How did you know what they were saying? You don't speak Hawawi-ish"
That one game me a chuckle.
tonight i made hamburgers on the grill. and my 10 year old asked what that was on the platter-i said hamburgers-he said ewww i'm not eating those they don't look like hamburgers.
they had the grill marks on them and usually i just fry them in the pan!!
My in-laws took my 4 year old on a day trip. Somehow she got started asking where hamburgers come from. They told her from cows...not wanting to explain the whole process. Apparently, that didn't satisfy her, because the next comment out of her mouth was "what, do they poop them out?". The in laws got a chuckle out of that one!
