Recommendation for a Good Deoderant/antipersperant

Who can recommend a good deoderant? I am female and only sweat when I work out -- and sometimes under my arms when I'm speaking in front of large groups. I have tried the expensive perscription-strength that is sold over the counter. I have tried Shaklee deoderants. I have tried men's. I'm not a sweaty person -- why do I have such a hard time finding one that works? Also, I have a male friend that does sweat a lot -- so much that he ruins most of his shirts & just buys new ones. Any recommendations for him?

Thanks so much for your help & experience! :)

Thank you for the great suggestions!! I'm going to try some new deoderants & pass on the info to my friend, as well. I appreciate your help!

I love Dove Ultimate Go Fresh. I'm not a sweater either but in the summer if I'm gonna be out in the heat I will apply baby powder to my underarms.

Dove is the only thing that works for me. Been using it for years.

I use Thai Deoderant Stick or Crystal Deodorant. It is made from natural ingredients that don't let the bacteria (the cause of BO) grow. It is more expensive initally (around $7?), but they last a LONG time! I go through one about every two years. Think of the money saved in two years of not buying deodorant every month or so! (You can buy it at drugstores, health food stores, or online.)

It is also a much "greener" and healthier choice. It does not contain the harmful aluminum and carcinogens in 'regular' antiperspirants and deodorants. Make sure to use it correctly (wet it before applying to clean armpit).

My favorite is Tussy. You can only find it on the internet now, but it is really good and extremely cheap too! I sure wish stores would start carrying it again. It was only about a $1 and was about the only thig that worked for me.

I love Lady Speedstick invisible solid in shower fresh. I also sweat under the circumstances you mentioned and have never had an odor problem.

I'm a chronic sweater always have been. I do use the clinical strength degree and i love it! My son swears he has "hyperhoydrosis" chronic sweating and no deodorant will help. He would need the little surgery that clips the glands under arms...not at this time. I was thinking of your guy friend maybe talking to his doctor about this? A cool little secret I read about years ago is when you do sweat and get an odor you can use hand sanitizer under your arms! That certain dry someone else mentioned does work good too, make sure your not freshly shaved when you apply it...holy cow it burns! Good Luck!

Buy Certain Dry, and use it at night. You still use your regular deodorant in the mornings so you smell good, but it will completely keep you dry within just a few days of using it. Don't use it right after you shave, it will burn

One of my older kids sweats a lot, all the time, and has been using Certain-Dri. You apply it at night and it shuts down the sweat glands for allegedly up to 72 hours. She then applies a regular anti-perspirant/deodorant in the morning (Secret). That may be more than you need for daily use, but if you know you are making a presentation, it may make sense to try using this at night for a couple of nights before your presentation.

I was a sweaty, stinky teen and went through all the OTC. I only found that Arrid gel worked for me. It does stain shirts and contain aluminum. But the smell issue was gone. After my pregnancy, I bod changed and now I can use Toms Natural's no aluminum yeah!, apricot scent is my fave. I still wear Arrid when I work out, and there is some sweat but no smell. Oh and let the gel deodorant dry out a bit (blow dryer?) on you otherwise it will just stick to your clothes. BTW, try and find clothes that are not all up in your armpit. It's incredibly hard with fashion being so trim but add it to your list of desirable features. Good luck!
