So What Happened?

i tried the de-solve-it. i really had to use some elbow grease. i think i rubbed that darn spot a good 45 minutes but amazingly, it took out the hot pink polish, a large spot, that had been dried for 3 days. the ottoman didn't discolor or anything. thanks for the tips ladies!!

I used Motsenbocker's lift off #3 to get nail polish out of my carpet. It says its safe on some fabrics. You could buy it and try. I had to order it off the internet and it took a couple of days to get to me, but it came right out of the carpet.

It would help to know what your ottoman's upholstry is.

You could try a baby wipe. Those things get out the most surprising stains!

Hi M.-
My mother used to keep this as a staple in our house:
De-Solve-It. It has a nice lemony fragrance to it and removes everything from gum, tar, PAINT, to blood, mud, and all that stuff. Spray some on, let it sit, then scrub it out. You may have to use a wet cloth to scrub it so it doesn't permanently leave the cleaner on the ottoman, but it has worked for me. Elbow grease required.
2 other options that have also worked for random stains for me are soilove and goo gone. But I would get the desolve it first. You can use it on your laundry, furniture, etc.
Good luck! I hope your ottoman gets cleaned!

Don't know, but rubbing alcohol thins out polish that has gotten thick so you can use it longer. Might be worth a shot but be careful. I'd hate to say this and then have it ruin the ottoman. Maybe try a spot underneath or a spot that's not visible.

Good morning. For non-toxic solution... wowgreen's super stain remover will take out nail polish... it's a bit oily.. so if I would follow it up with their carpet and upholstery cleaner... www.wowgreen.net/mygreenhome
Email me if you have any questions.. I am local to you.

If all else fails - Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca usually works. It erases Sharpie marker from linoleum and hardwood like water colors for example. I can help you get some if you're interested.
