I have been with my current OBGYN for about 6 years and have decided that it's time to move. I'm pregnant with my second child (3 mo) and this second experience at my current clinic has been to say the least a not so pleasant one. They are going through a major staff rearrangement and even changing facilities this month. The staff is not friendly and it seems in complete disarray. On average I wait for the doc for over 2 hours each visit. I delivered at North suburban with this doctor and wasn't real impresssed with that facility either. The staff was okay.
I work in Boulder and live in Thornton, so I was trying to find something in between. I found Avista per a referral in Louisville. Is anyone familiar with this hospital or can refer any of their docs? I've been by the area and seen the rooms and they are beautiful.
Any suggestions would be great!
I use Avista Hospital -the Women's clinic with Dr Spears. It is SO great so far - I am 20 weeks pregnant now and am so glad to have them as my doctors! She was recommended to me through another friend who has had 3 children using her. Good luck!
Avista is an awesome place to deliver! My OB is Molly Yardley at Avista Boulder Medical Center. But, all of the docs in that practice are very good. I used to work with them and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

I will join in and say I love the staff at Woman to Woman at Avista ###-###-####), too! Dr Wepman was my doctor for all 3 of my kiddos, and delivered the last two. Wepman also surgically removed some ovarian cysts for me between baby 1 & 2. She's sweet & funny, knowledgeable, calm under pressure (I had some crazy moments during my labors!), and she's great with my hubby and all his questions in the delivery room (he's a former science teacher). I really liked meeting the other dr's in the office too (Bissel and Romary), so I don't think you could lose with any of them.
Avista itself is beautiful, and I've liked the nurses on the floor and the lactation consultants. I hope that helps!

Dr. Bissel. She is in the avista building and My sister and I love her. It's called woman to woman healthcare ###-###-####. I delivered my second child at avista with doctor bissel and it was the best experiance. Plus, the food is amazing. Sounds silly but it really is! He taught under wolfgang puck from what I hear.
My OBGYN is Carrie Swartz with the Boulder Medical Center OB/GYN department. ###-###-#### I love the facilities and the care that I have received. I am due with my first baby in May and would totally recommend her. Good luck!
Avista is a great place as these women have said. The food is even good! I go to Avista women's care ###-###-#### which is a stellar place. There are 3 women OBs Mine was Dr. Huynh, pronounced "Win", but Dr. Moeller is also good, as is the other one. The good thing about it is if one is not there to deliver your baby, you will always have a woman. The NP there is also a woman and she is good, too. Good luck.
Dr. Carole Christensen delivered our three. She is calm, thoughtful and experienced.
I don't know anything about their OB staff and facilities, but we had the "joy" of an ER visit there a couple of weeks ago and found it to be very nice and the people to be very friendly and professional. (2 year old decided to dismount the bed head first - she was fine, jut needed checking on)
I see Dr. Wepman and she is also part of Woman to Woman at Avista. She is great! She delivered my 1st chlid a little over 2 years ago and we will be having #2 in May. Also as someone else stated the food is really good! They give you more then you can eat but it's worth it! I hope this helps you find what you are looking for!

I see Dr. Colleen Begley. She has two offices and is on staff at two hospitals. I think one is in Thornton; the one I go to is on 287 in Lafayette, just north of Dillon Rd. She is a high-energy doctor, her staff is friendly, and I've never waited horribly long. They were kind and understanding during my miscarriage in 2007.
I delivered both of my boys at Avista and love the hospital. I am an OB/GYN physician and asked the nurses I worked with at St. Anthony's North who they recommended up at Avista. They recommended Dr. Carole Christiensen with the Boulder Medical Grp. She is great!
Woman to Woman Healthcare at Avista. Dr. Romary is my OB and is great! She has a great sense of humor and is a VERY attentive dr. She takes the time to really talk with you, how you're dealing emotionally, as well as, physically. She delivered my first and Dr. Bissell (Chief of Staff) delivered my second. I definitely recommend any of them in that practice.

My doctor, Tracy Jones, with Boulder Medical (at Foothills) is fantastic. It's not Avista, but she was incredible with delivering my daughter and she has been the OB for about 10 friends. Everyone loves her and feels she is very competent. I'm now with her for my second daughter and I wouldn't want anyone else to deliver my child. She has gone out of her way for me time and time again--staying overtime to deliver patients, calling to follow up. She is an incredible doctor. She works with other great docs too. I delivered at Avista a year and a half ago and LOVED it! It was so nice, especially compared to where I delivered my first daughter. Everyone gets a private room and the rooms were very nice, the nurses were helpful and nice. It was a great experience. My OB was Dr Bissell from Women to Women also at Avista. She was great as well, extremely nice. I would stay with her if I had another child. I also saw Dr Romery, she was the one who actually delivered my second.

I had my first baby at Avista, and about to have my second there. We go to Dr Carol Christensen (at Boulder Medical Center, Avista location). She's very nice and no nonsense. We had a great experience with her with our first, and she's been great throughout this pregnancy.

I want to 2nd the recommendation of Dr. Tracy Jones! She was awesome -- I too delivered at Boulder Foothills and it was awesome -- my son had to be in the NICU there for a week, but she visited to check on us and went out of her way to make sure that I had her as the one that delievered my son! She is personable, professional and a great doctor.
I see the doctors at The Women's Health group in LAfayette at Exempla Good Samaritan. I like them a lot and Exempla is also a newer beautiful facility I will be giving birth at in the next week or two.
