My husband bought one and thinks it is the best thing ever. I believe it broke after a short amount of time and he had to get a replacement part for it but he still LOVES it.
Has anyone tried the Shark Steam Mop? I have both hardwood and stone floors and was wonfering about other people's experience before I make the investment.

It's better than a traditional mop, but you do need to go slow and maybe do the floors twice to get it really clean.

I don't have the steam mop but I have the shark canister model. I have used it on my wood floors and it worked great. I have linoleum in the kitchen and it is the best thing I have found to clean it. My daughter uses hers to clean around the shower doors and says it works great for that too. It is especially nice because you don't use any chemicals. Order extra of the cleaning pads. You need to wash them separately in the washing machine so it is nice to have extras and save them up to wash all at once. I ordered from Target online and it was cheaper but I think Bed Bath Beyond has the mop and you can use your 20% off coupon to help save money.
I have one and love it, in fact I really don't use it much because my husband likes it so much he using it to clean the floors at home. I like it because my little boy is now crawling and i don't have to worry about his sensitive skin touching the floor because there are not any harmful chemicals.
I own a small boutique and we bought a Shark to do our floors there. We have laminate floors so I don't know how it works specifically on stone or hardwood but I'm very satisfied with it. Its easy to use and cleans quickly.just have to wash the pads often. Good luck!
Hi K.,
I got one for Christmas and love it! I mainly use it on my kitchen floor which are tile and it works really well.
Hope this helps!
I have it and I LOVE it. One suggestion, get extra mop covers. My floors are the cleanest they have ever been. As for the hardwood, as long as it is sealed it says it will work without damaging. I have yet to try them on my hardwood. My floors are ceramic tile, Travertine and hardwood. I have yet to experience any of the "fog" that the others have, and I use tap water. I do use the Shark and have had it for 3 months and use it 3-4 times a week with no problems. If you get it at Costco, and it doesn't work, then you can return it whenever.

I LOVE my Shark Steam Mop. I only have used it on linoleum since I have unsealed wood floors. I love love love it. The pads are machine washable & that makes it all so easy. I completely recommend buying one. I feel safe letting my 11-month-old crawl around in the kitchen now.
I bought the mop from Costco and love it. I read alot of reviews on it before I made the purchase so I was well informed of its quirks. It is the cleanest your floor will be without chemicals. It is alot less labor intensive for me than the old way I was cleaning our floors.
I live out in the country and have only laminate floors. They get so dirty with my dogs and all the dust. I tried my mother in laws steamer but it left the floor very wet. So Bed Bath and Beyond has the deluxe shark on sale and I had a coupon so I bought it. THey also have it at Costco for a great price too. I love it. It cleans the floor easily and I don't have to mess with the mop. Plus now that my daughter is crawling she was getting so dirty. I do it once a day. It took some getting used to. I recommend short fast strokes and the first time you use it, it won't work as good. It has to get water and steam in its system. I would get it.
I don't have the Shark Steam mop but I do have another brand and it is the best investment I made. I have tile and hardwood floors. I use no chemicals just the steam mop and it is fabulous!

We had the Shark Steam Mop and loved it, we have hard wood floors throughout the house so it really beat our swiffer wet mop value wise and cleaning ability.
However, the long stick, that the handle is attached to, is a little thin and you are suppose to push it in and out to release the steam. One day, after about 2 months of constant use, its just snapped in 2.
We miss it terribly, thought about supergluing it, but since the steam action release put pressure on the stick, we opted not to.
In the end, we decided to buy another one, but from a different manufacturer. Hope this helps! :)
I bought one and returned it. It left a "fog" on my pergo floors and it looked dirty afterwards. I was reading that I might need to use distilled water in the canister, instead of tap. I never tried it again- so I don't know if that made the difference. Went back to the old spray floor cleaner and mop. So, I was not impressed.
I purchased the mop and thought it would be great because we have tile throught out our downstairs which is quite a large area. I wasn't that impressed. It seems to leave streaks and the floor still seems dirty after I have mopped. It might work better for hardwood floors of if your area is not so big.
Hi K.!
I HAD bought a Shark steam mop for my tile floor and it worked ONCE and that was it! It was a hunk of junk, I was so disappointed. The same evening when my kids were in bed I was flipping thru the channels and landed on QVC. I saw another steam mop they had and it looked great so I ordered it. The next week I had it and used it. WOW that thing is GREAT! It is made by HAAN and is yellow and silver. I use it every Saturday morning to clean up the floor and in our bathrooms too. I bought the extra cleaning pads so I can just trow them in the wash after clean up.
Good luck!
HI, I have wood floors to. Would like to know too. Thanks

Hi,
We bought a steam mop recently at the OC Fair and we LOVE it. I HATE mopping and this also disinfects without chemicals. We have three dogs (inside/outside) and other random critters and it makes me feel better with my toddler walking around to know that the floor is clean.
Which one are you getting? I have the big one that holds 50 minutes of steam. I absolutely LOVE it. I had an earlier model that I used for years and loved it and it finally bit the dust so I got a new one this past year. I won't clean my floors with anything else. I don't have wood floors...I would be much more cautious and make sure they are sealed really well. But for the tile/stone...even showers, counters etc. If your getting the big one with all the attachments...or if you prefere the smaller lightweight, I'd recommend getting the hand held steamer along with it for other jobs around the house. Most of my house has real stone, granite and marble so I can't use chemicals. I'm bit of a clean freak if you will...and one of my favorite moments is after I've steam mopped my floor..such a great feeling! Sometimes people get a dud or they just don't work it properly, so follow the directions...all the way. Have Fun!!!
