I haven't done sittercity.com, but I did do care.com. I loved it. It was worth the sign up fee, and you can cancel at any time. We found an excellent sitter and met several others we would call for a backup.
Hi Mamas,
Anyone out there had good luck with sittercity.com? Is it worth the sign-up fee? I am looking for a nanny, two days per week. [I'm trying to avoid a nanny placement service to avoid some of the cost.] Thanks!

I used Sittersity to find my current sitter. I also got some contacts in case she in unable to watch my kids or can no longer be with us. I thought it was great and really worth it. Under Mamasource, there was a discount code to use for a percentage or $$ amount off. Look for that first. I also checked out Care.com and it wasa a great resource but I did not keep it past a 2 week trial. I think the main difference in the 2 was that on Care.com you can also look up tutors and adult care as well.
We have had great success with sitter city. We found summer help last year and just found a new babysitter a few weeks ago. I highly recommend the site.
We found both our nanny and our once-in-a-while sitter on sittercity, so we had very good luck. I must say, though, that I got a free membership through my graduate school; I'm not sure what the regular fee is. It might also depend on your geographic area, though; I'm in the Chicago suburbs, and there were many people to choose from. Not so sure about where you are?
i have a friend who is a nanny or a babysitter for quite 6 years now, she is a good woman who take's care of the baby when the employer is out of down or he/she is at work
I just want to know the location, how will she apply as a nanny in your place?
thanks a lot, and waiting for any information regarding this matter.
