Mitchell gold slipcovers. They have washable covers for their couches but offer a vast variety of fabrics if you do opt to go that route!
I would like to get some slip covers for my couches. Can anyone reccomend a brand that they felt worked well for them? the couches I have are 2 cushion with loose back cushions. I am not opposed to making my own, what fabric would be best. Which ever I choose homemade or store bought it needs to stand up to 3 little boys!
thanks everyone!

Save your money towards a new couch.
Several years ago, I bought a slip cover that I really liked from Target. I just checked the label - it just has the bullseye, so it must be their own brand. I liked that it was a nice heavy twill and that the 2 piece style* I bought had a cover for the couch and a separate cover for the seat cushions. It has straps on both sides to allow you to snug it up, and it really stays put. I've washed it a few times and it still looks great. Hope this helps~
*They may even have a style with a separate cover for the back cushions, but I wasn't looking for that.
Whatever you do, try to get patterned ones, if you are not opposed to them, they hide a lot. Otherwise, go with dark colors. I always liked the ones that had elastic, not ties. As far as fabric, most are made from cotton twill, which is heavier than something like batiste, but lighter than canvas. A lighter weight denim is nice too, and doesn't wrinkle as badly.
And I disagree about going with a new couch, the covers last for YEARS, are easy to clean, the size you want is usually pretty inexpensive (I always got mine at Big Lots or Value City), and why buy a new couch when it's just the fabric that needs to be replaced? Covers are a whole lot cheaper than reupholstering.
I have found that it depends on the style of couch. Most modern slip covers (like the ones that SureFit makes) are made for couches that have the modern, bigger arms. If your couch has little, short arms I think you are going to have trouble.
I agree with everyone who recommonded SureFit. I bought this brand for a chair and ottoman and they worked great. SureFit will send you a catalog and even fabric swatches. They wash great but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to dry them.
I would actually love to get some now but we have a couch that reclines. Good luck.
I admit I'm pretty miserable about having to start looking at couch covers. We got a beautiful dark gray modern style couch (many years pre-baby) from Room & Board in New York. The cats have been systematically destroying the corners, and now it's getting ruined with mysterious stains and sidewalk chalk. Our cream colored love seat upstairs in the TV room is now unrecognizable in color.
One solution we've considered is to get rid of them and get leather couches. IKEA has a few that are just $399. We can just wipe them down. We also are considering vintage "pleather" 1950's couches, since they look like the new ones we already have.
There is a company in Allentown called SureFit. They have a really great selection and their quality is great. http://www.surefit.net/
I don't have a brand to recommend, but I can say that we've been pretty happy with the ones we bought from overstock.com. Overstock.com had really good deals (I think we paid $25 per cover, for 3 couches). They are machine washable, and have been very durable. I got dark colors (burgundy & dark green) to help hide the stains.
I've tried a couple different covers & didn't have any luck until we got the Sure Fit stretch covers. They are machine washable & actually stay put. We have 2 boys, 2 dogs & 2 cats. I've had them about 6 months now & they are doing great. We got a chocolate brown color.
