I'm outside of Dallas and we are doing good so far, but my SIL is in Bastrop(5 minutes away from the state park) and they were evacuated today. Haven't heard if they still have the house.

I just want to make sure my Texas mom friends here are ok. I'm in Plano/Allen which is a northern burb of Dallas
We are still on water restrictions with the water police coming through but today has been beautiful!! We need rain though.
It's a little uncomfortable backing up to an 85 acre wooded area and trusting people to be smart about what they are doing. I'm thinking about all you moms out there and the wildlife in danger.
Keep us posted!
Thank you all for posting so far. You are certainly all in our thoughts.
I'm really po'd that BO is not providing the funds needed to help these people and the state of TX. Someone told me... " BO didn't win TX so TX is not on his list of states to help in case of emergency. II may not agree with every political view but when citizens need help..... Send it

We are in Troy....near Waco, but my brother and sister in law live in Bastrop. They were evacuated and are staying with us. My sister in laws family is in Bastrop as well. They don't know right now if their houses are still standing. Please pray for everyone going through this devastation.
My son was driving back to Sam Houston University and had to be detoured off 45. It took him an extra hour and a half to get there because of all the added traffic due to the evacuations. He could smell the smoke in Huntsville.
There were also fires all around where my brother lives in Kemp.
I'm in your area too, and yes, please pray for rain, we need it so badly!!! My backyard has cracks and dead patches, I've lost two trees and all my flowers have all but withered away. The water restrictions are necessary but we need a miracle to bless TX right now, especially for the fires that are south down in Austin as well as north west!!!
I'm thinking about y'all in Texas w/the wildfire danger. Heartbreaking w/all the loss & devastation. Definitely keeping ya'll in prayers & doin' a rain dance : ) I'm a Michigan transplant from Texas (Dallas burbs) :\ I still have family in Dallas burbs as well as West Texas & tons of friends in Austin area & a brother in Cedar Park.
North San Antonio was burning this afternoon, but they got it out.
Pray for rain!!
its killing my asthma. they are all around katy. north and west and I also heard south but not sure on that one. The sun was actually red it was cool. we were getting ashes on the west side of katy we could smell it for about 4 hours. click2houston.com is giving updates on the fires
I am thanking God that my friends in Bastrop got out & just heard their houses were spared. Several people in the churches we have been visiting (we just repatriated from Shanghai) lost their homes. Last night, another fire broke out in Austin & my niece/nephew were told to evacuate from the store. Scary. We are all pulling together.
But I'm concerned about barbecuing, etc...have not heard about a ban but there should be. The wind was horrible for 2 days. Yes, pray for rain!
It smells polluted like Shanghai was, here in Austin! :(
Ok in Arlington. I water when we are allowed but my good friend I grew up with lives out in east Texas and I think there are some fires not far from her. Praying for her and everyone else across our great state!
I'm in Georgetown (north of Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Austin) which is well north of the major fires. We have a big pasture right across the road from us which does make me nervous, also.
There's a neighborhood fire just 2-3 miles north of my parents in San Antonio, 20 miles south of me. http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Wildfire-in-Stone-Oa...
Bastrop pictures look awful.
We're already in such tight water restrictions, we don't have any water to pour onto these fires!
Please God, send us rain!
My sister called me this morning and said she'd received some sad news. She had just got a call from her daughter and the daughters MIL lost everything last night in the fires in Texas. My nieces FIL passed away a few months ago too and now everything her MIL had left of him is gone too. Her MIL's house is nothing but a heap of shouldering debris now. I feel so incredibly sad for her. She lost even her clothing and the pets. I pray that everyone else is able to get out alive but that these fires, even the ones here in Oklahoma have been horrible and in highly populated areas.
