Please would you consider this request that the daily digest be filtered somehow for inappropriate words/questions? I'd really prefer not to see some of the eyebrow-raising questions in my inbox and there have been some doozies lately. If not, how can I turn off Daily Digest? Thanks!

To clarify, I was asking a technical question about how the digest is parsed. Due to the method that the digest is distributed, its content matters. Most of the questions here do not hold much interest for me so I do not click on them. But that is a choice I can make. Not so with the digest. Thus, I have turned it off.
I have ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS with the moderation here. There's been a 100% improvement from 18 months ago.
Mike is ON TOP of the questions and such.
Assuming you are a mother (which in theory requires sexual activity), you must be somewhat familiar with male sexual habits, so this topic is inappropriate....how?

He, he, he ... I haven't read the Daily Digest in years. I just go to mamapedia.com/questions and read the questions there.
I guess that doesn't help much, as then you'd see all of the questions rather than just a select few. Yep, there are sometimes inappropriate questions. Usually I just roll my eyes and go on to the next one.
ETA - Ever since Mike started working here, the inappropriate questions have gotten removed very quickly! Usually within an hour or so. It used to take days (and that's not an exaggeration).

Thanks for the question. I understand your concerns and agree that on some occasions there are questions included in the Daily Digest Newsletter that we would rather not be included.
As was mentioned by Nervy Girl below, we rely on an automated system that uses the most recently posted questions for inclusion in the Digest. For the most part this system works well for us. Although admittedly on rare occasion an inappropriate question comes in late at night and before it can be vetted it gets included in the newsletter. This is what happened recently in fact. If anyone clicked on that question from the newsletter they would have been brought to a blank page as the question itself had been removed. Still, I agree it was regrettable that a link to the question was included in the first place.
So, bottom line we are aware of the problem and are considering possible solutions for the future. We do take the matter seriously. Thanks again D. for your question.

I think, if we start censoring the site, we lose the value of it. We ignore the questions that don't interest us, we report things that are truly offensive (obvious trolls, spammers), and we let the moderators take care of the rest. If we can't tolerate opinions that are different from ours, we are missing the point of Mamapedia.
We can't, as members, take on the job of informing posters that they are inappropriate - we MUST let the administrators do that. Reporting is far more effective in getting rid of real problems, and the members who appoint themselves the arbitrators of what's real and what's not actually cause more damage by making Mamapedia sound negative (letting new members see the rancor, insulting people who have legit questions but phrase them poorly due to stress or written communications skills).
You already have answers below about how to unsubscribe. And of course you can just scroll past things that don't interest you.

For what it's worth, I have contacted Admin regarding a different question and my understanding is that, while they would like to be able to immediately tweak content that is highlighted (remove some problematic questions) on the Daily Digests, it is a fixed system. That is to say, it is probably an automated program which uses the last few questions. I think it is a lot to expect the admins to sort through each and every question and post, don't you? That said, they are very responsive to the Report This button, so don't be afraid to use it.
This is a site for parents to ask questions and get advice, sometimes that advice is about a marriage, sometimes it is about sex (which as parents we have clearly all had). We are all supposed to be adults here so these types of questions should not be a problem.
Over all I think the monitoring/censoring works very well here.
I've seen Yahoo commentary - it's not pretty to say the least.
Rude, crude, insulting, personal attacks - it's a free for all - and it's why I don't participate there anymore.
The reason Mamapedia works so well is it DOES have rules of engagement and keeping to the rules helps keep a civilized conversation happening most of the time.
I believe the Daily Digest just gathers a list of what ever gets posted during the day - and it happens regardless if something was deleted earlier in the day.
Guess you don't miss any mud slinging that way but I could see why you wouldn't want to get ALL of that in your email box.
I opted out of the daily digest a long time ago (so long ago I couldn't tell you how to do it now).
I like coming here are reading the posts several times a day.
I prefer it to getting the info in an email.
The Daily Digest is more for someone who prefers email to site surfing.
I don't like a cluttered up email box.
I only come to this page, with the questions and comments on it. I have no use for the rest of mamapedia. If you're getting emails from the page then you need to unsubscribe.
I actually like how these things are handled currently and Mike is doing a fine job. As in anything, it is a choice..I might see an ad for a show that is violent -I switch channels if I don't want to watch it.
