As a sahm of 3 I do get out on the week days it's the weekends I don't want to leave the house.
Do you savor the weekends with just your kids?Do you let them loose with their dad while you take a break & do what you want?Do you get a sitter while you & hubs go out for the evening?
Our family time is everyday me & the kidsdad works FT, then on weekends I like to if I can go shopping without them I have several stops to make including the weekdays they just like to be outside so i'll leave them with dad for a while.I grill out more than ever in the spring/summer we will fire up our fire pit & have s'mores, family movie night with popcorn,me & hubby don't hire or ask family to watch our kids we do it as a family when ever we do go out shopping, fishing, nature trail walks or out to eat.As summer is near my inlaws will have several camping trips where we will all go as a family. Then the never ending cleaning, laundry & cooking

We hike together on local trails, bike together, do road trips, go run errands in Santa Fe and eat lunch out, do cub scout activities, local festivals, art fairs, go hear music in the park, fly kites, go fishing, go play in a stream in the mountains up near us. We invite friends over for dinner. I always want to DO stuff and go places. I hate staying home and doing chores on weekends but sometimes it has to be done. :) Every once in a blue moon we get our babysitter to come and my husband and I go out one evening. Sometimes my husband takes the kids during the day so I can get some artwork done. I try to go for a run one of the mornings each weekend.

I LOVE to be home on the weekends! I work full time and my oldest has baseball 2 nights a week during the week right now and scouts every other wednesday. And my hubby works swing shift so it's just me!
Unfortunately, this weekend won't be one of those.
We have the Joggin for the Noggin walk tomorrow (to raise $ for the American Brain Tumor Assoc.) and a team of 19 of us are walking in honor of my hubby! Then a horseshoe tournament and bbq after. Sunday will be church and chores. YIKES!! No R & R for me this weeeknd.
ENJOY your weekend :):):)

We love weekends at home! Sometimes plans pull us away (last weekend was a wedding), but our favorite is just to stay home and/or go at our own speed. Fridays are for fun. If it's nice we play outside, simple dinner and maybe a movie or board game. Sat morning the kids have martial art class and we don't get home until almost 11am, then relax, have lunch, then usually do some work for awhile - either clean, put away laundry, yard work etc. Then chill out all evening, kids stay up late etc. Sunday we chill and get stuff ready for the next week! Awwwww......I love weekends..

Right now my weekends are filled with baseball and soccer but soon enough it will be filled with laying out by the pool!! Whoo-Hoo!!
~We generally do lots of 'family time' on the weekends, whatever it is we are doing, we do it together as a unit. The Man and I don't get out much but we do a LOT after the kids go to bed! It's almost Sookie time...Ahhh! Sookie! True Blood is our favorite date night! *My husband can say it just perfect...Ahhh, Sookie!

Well, it depends. When the kids were younger we usually had a family outing of some type, beach, zoo, museum, etc. My husband would go batty if we just stayed home all weekend with three kids bouncing off the walls :)
If you need a break, then yes, take off and do something. If you (and your husband and kids) are content to stay home, then do that. But I do think the occasional date night is important!

We mix it up depending on our schedule. Sometimes we stay home ALL weekend, but normally we at least go to church. My boys play football, plus we go to movies, parks, swimming, bowling, walks, ball games, etc...we jus do things that make the memories - which inculdes taking in a good movie on the couch sometimes too!

my sis & I grew up traveling each wkend from March to Nov....It was very rare for us to stay at our home in the city. Instead, we lived for our wkends at our lake house!
that said, we're on the road a lot. My family lives 2 hours from the city where 90% of both sides of our family lives. Not a month goes by without us hitting the interstate! My mom & sis both head our way, too. In fact, this wkend, Mom & I are taking the 14yos in the family to Branson for another one of our Road Trip wkends. (we do this about 4-5 times each year....thank goodness for season passes to Silver$City!) Branson is only 2 1/2 hours away!
My sis & I still have our family lake home. We're in the planning stages of selling it....& just last night, I was checking out lake properties closer to our home. I can't wait to switch our allegiance to Lake of the Ozarks.....we'll have a blast & it's only 1 hour from our home. (current childhood lake home is 2 1/2 hours away & bad roads to boot....so it's a chore going there now. + Evil Step Mom lives there.)
As for those other wkends, our younger son is in Scouts. He camps a lot with them. We also enjoy local festivals: the Renaissance Faire, Mt Man encampments, living history wkends, flea markets, etc. Based in mid-MO, we are fortunate to be in the center of many great tourist sights! We're <2 hours from St Louis, 1 hour to Lake of the Ozarks, 1 hour to float trip heaven, 1 hour to the capitol.....lots to choose from. All good things!
This wkend is International Learn to Fly Day. We had a hard time deciding whether to head into StL, Springfield, or other locations.......heaven forbid, should we stay home!! We ended up chosing Springfield so we could hit Branson, too. As soon as my last daycare kid leaves 2night, I'll be packing my truck! Yee-hah!

It depends on the weekend. We have all 3 kids every other weekend so we try to keep them busy or they would all be crazy, especially our 8 yo son as he's most active. Friday night is family movie night. We have pizza and salad and all watch a movie together. Saturday we do some cleaning in the morning then usually head out to early movie (before noon) if a kid movie is out. Then we'll have lunch at a restaraunt with a playyard. then we'll come and swim (if its summer) or if its winter the kids will ride bikes or play in the front yard with the neighbors. We also go to the park. Saturday night we rent a movie for the kids if there is something at Redbox for them to see. Sunday we usually go to church and then eat out and then to the park or home to swim. Now, on our "no kid weekends" we just wing it and do whatever we want!

I am so busy during the week that I like to go out every sat morn and go garage saling-then take the kids home for a nap while me and my hubby have some quality time. We go to church in the evening and then sunday morn we go to church again, then spend the afternoon and evening as a family doing family activities or hanging out at home. I love my life!
